The difference is that in summer compilation it is about the summer feel...winter compilations are usually about the song-type so I guess summer compilations are more common.

I know SoL is an album. But Kuu treating it as single probably shows, that she wanted to make a normal summer single and avex were the ones making it into a compilation. But of course it's just speculation.
Seeing the sales, it's probably safe to say her fans are treating it as a single as well.
I just hope, avex notices it wasn't a good idea and is gonna learn from it.

Btw. WALK OF MY LIFE is apparently, according to Baidu, confirmed to be sung tomorrow at FNS Natsu no Matsuri.

I think it's very safe to assume that. I'm just wondering if Kuu considering this a "single" means the new songs will pop up again on her next album.

The sales make total sense for me. Like Karen said, the track listing is very off-putting as there isn't really much offered for an "album," even if it is just a compilation. I think #7 weekly for a release such as this is actually not bad, and I expected something out of the top 5 to be honest.

Guess calling it a single is her way to "rebel" a bit against the compilation decision. I mean, so far she's even just promoting the new songs from SoL. And else she prefers to sing songs from WOML album and for the most part other old ones.

Well kumi released 3 new songs along side a mountain of hits. Not even that helped the sales for summer of love. That says something, I mean are people even going to buy her singles anymore?? New songs are new songs and if those songs can't make fans buy a new release that's very alarming. Praying for the best

^well, 17k people buy those 3 new songs, the same amount of people who buy previous summer singles. lol the drama here, nothing is gonna change the sales, a smart idea or not, nothing is gonna change.

what I need is a Xmas cover album, I think her vocals are perfect for it

Please, no. The last thing I want is another cover album. I still couldn't bring myself to like the first two, save a few songs (BE MY BABY and Megumi no hito are flawless, of course).

Really?? Wow, both ETERNITY and CTC are among my top fav kumi albums. She's convinced me she's the queen of covers, I now anxiously await her cover albums.

About the album: I think more people would have bought it if it was just the 3 new songs. Her sales are mostly from fans (as soundscan of WOML showed) and those wouldn't have a lot of demand for this compilation would they? I mean no offense if you bought it I think it's a good compilation but yeah as I said I think more people would have bought a single.

There's always a possibility that the 3 new songs in SUMMER of LOVE would have been something Kuu wanted to release as a Summer single

I will not know what happened in between meetings that she had with avex but the fact that Kuu said on LINE it's a single , it shows her indirect resentment towards this release

That said , I have no problems with compilations but if any of my fave artistes were to release any , please do it properly & don't make it as a 1/2 hearted release

No, sadly not.
I hope it will be released somehow.

I wonder how much songs Kuu is allowed to sing.
She didn't perform in FNS last year, but in 2013 she sang 3 songs.
WALK OF MY LIFE is already confirmed by her officical fb page.

Same hairstyle as at Tokai Summit - just in dark blond. She coloured her hair again the last days it seems. Long black dress, live band. Sounded lovely.
