As far as their heights are concerned...I think Toshiko is about 5', and Nakata might be about 5' 6-7"? It was really hard for me to tell. He looked like he was a couple inches taller than me, and I'm 5' 5".

Beauty-- The friend I was with didn't think he was hot, but for some reason I was just totally overwhelmed...I think part of it was his hair style/color, part of it was his attitude, and part of it was his talent. I think people with talent are super sexy, and he definitely falls into that category xD

You know when you're still in bed 24 hours after you get back from a club that you were doin' it right...today is another day in bed for me so I can rest up; Friday I'm going to see Delphic in Shibuya and their show is early enough that I'm going to club asia afterwards to see Nakata's monthly FLASH!! performance/set/thingy. xD I'm going to need to go to club rehab if this keeps up.

Oh man...I stumbled in the door 10 minutes ago, at about 6:20 am, after getting back from Nakata's set at club asia. @__@ It was SO FUN. omg. I need to drink a large glass of water and sleep, like, right now, but I'll write more later.

HE WAS TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY PLASTERED. It was amazing.

when I saw the JUMPER live in music japan (or whatever music program) nakata looks like he has the same height with toshiko and I was thinking if he is a short guy XD but well, 5`6~7 isn't that short

You may very well be right...it was really hard to tell with him up on a platform. :/ He's definitely at least a couple inches taller than Toshiko, for sure.

Yes, I do like to party. But it's not like OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO GO OUT AND GET SMASHED~ It's like, I'll have one drink and just spend the rest of the night dancing. The energy in places like that is really addictive, especially when you've got amazing DJs like Nakata up there.

Last night was super duper fun (minus some really drunk *******s who kept running up on stage in the middle of DJs' sets...thankfully, not Nakata's, or I would have forcibly dragged them off and beat the crap out of them, thus getting myself kicked out). Doors opened at 11, there was a really crap DJ for half an hour, then someone a little better for the next hour, then at 12:30 this AWESOME duo came out called "Don't Listen To The TV" (it certainly helped that they were both insanely good looking) and then Alyn came out for an hour; she's the female DJ that was at ASOBINITE on Monday. She's super cute, and I totally adore her!

In the middle of Alyn's set Nakata and his bodyguard wandered on stage, his bodyguard was DEFINITELY a few drinks for the worse (nice to know he's so dedicated to his job) and kept grabbing the mike and yelling into it. Alyn looked miffed, can't say as I blame her, and eventually he stopped...thankfully. Nakata came out and played a set very similar to the one he did at ASOBINITE, but that didn't bother me at all. He did a techno remix of Carmina Burana (and proceeded to climb up onto the table next to the turntable with his drink), more Michael Jackson, lots of tracks from PLAYER, some other capsule tunes, Chocolate Disco (which the crowd seemed to love), and even some music from LIAR GAME!!! That was a nice surprise. While he was mixing it or what have you they showed the video footage from the trailer for the movie on all the video screens, so that was cool. He left the stage at one point (but the music kept going) and I'm pretty sure it was to go to the loo...he was drinking so much, and he was completely and utterly plastered, but still phenomenal, etc. I wonder if he's as good without the booze...he'd definitely been drinking when I saw him on Monday, too. His set was an hour and a half; half an hour longer than all the other DJs.

We were dead front and center, and it was so freaking fun that we've decided to go see his FLASH!! events every month...it's the first Friday of every month at club asia. Lots of fun! I look forward to the next one for sure. Maybe one of these days I'll be lucky enough to run into him and have a chat~

"He drank it a lot"...that's a massive understatement.

I am caucasian, and I have platinum blonde hair...I'm kind of hard to miss, especially since I was front and center! So I'd like to think he noticed me, but he didn't do anything to acknowledge me specifically. He doesn't open his eyes very widely at all, and when he's not looking down at the turntable he's usually looking out at the *whole* crowd or up at the ceiling, haha. But some guy that was running around taking pictures (I know I ended up in a lot of those) and I acknowledged each other a couple times; I'd seen him at ASOBINITE, so I'm not sure if he recognized me from the other day or just appreciated my enthusiasm. Or maybe he was amused at the white girl who knew all the capsule songs and was jumping higher than anyone else.

So, until Nakata and I make eye contact(/meet/exchange phone numbers/swap house keys), my quest continues~!

If I ever meet him, you will be the very first person to know!
And if he doesn't approach me of his own accord (which he should, because I'm peppy! And bubbly! And cute! And stuff.), I'll just have to wait until his bodyguard gets *****faced again and use that opportunity to jump him.

Apparently I have too much free time on my hands...I translated Nakata's March '10 interview with beat freak, about the release of PLAYER. Original can be found here: http://www.beatfreak.jp/interview/7174/
Quote:
Interviewer: Were you working on capsule's new album PLAYER at the same time you were working on LIAR GAME 2, the soundtrack for the new movie LIAR GAME ~The Final Stage?
Nakata: While working on the soundtrack, I wrote "Stay with You" (theme song) and "Love or Lies" (insert song) for capsule, and about halfway through production of LIAR GAME 2 I began writing other songs for the album. Actually, I had in mind that "Love or Lies" would be the theme song, and eventually wrote "Stay with You" at the request of the director. If you listen to the music while watching the movie, I think you'll understand why. Because of that, "Stay with You" is a little different than the rest of the tracks on PLAYER. If it weren't for LIAR GAME, that song wouldn't have been on the album.

Interviewer: So this CD, with its hip-hop and rap-based compositions, defies the traditional idea that capsule = techno/electro-pop?
Nakata: But between those two styles, I don't know which is the 'main' one for this album. (Laughs) Because it feels like they're both main styles. I've never had to pick one over the other. Each song is different from the next, so you could say that any and all of the tracks are essential to the album. LIAR GAME's theme song is on the album, and if people were hoping for songs that sounded similar to that, I think the album will be a little different from what they expected...(Laughs) But for people who didn't know what to expect, I think they've gotten a well-rounded collection of songs.

Interviewer: Has your method of writing music changed at all?
Nakata: The way I create music is, essentially, the same. As always, this album was made through my desire as a composer to create fresh, stimulating music. I have fun while I write and think, "Wouldn't this be cool?" and I think the end product has a distinctive atmosphere associated with capsule.

Interviewer: The fact that even in your dramatic songs strange and funny sounds can be heard really evokes the style of capsule, wouldn't you say?
Nakata: I'm also a DJ, so naturally club-style sound effects make their way into the music, but this album isn't me as a DJ remixing the latest songs. I think that music is easy to enjoy, and when I hear it I think over and over again, "Oh, I put that in there" and don't realize it until that moment. I think that makes for a really interesting, enjoyable album.

Interviewer: Considering the name of the song, would you say "PLAYER" and its aggressive rap encompasses the album as a whole?
Nakata: I wouldn't say that. I love the pure sound of "PLAYER" [the album]. And it's about people playing around and enjoying themselves. You're not on the defensive; the team that's out there doing it are the PLAYERS. The producing I do for capsule is similar. You could say that I'm actually playing around with capsule. Or, more simply, I think it's a title with a cool design. (Laughs) Now, when I look at it, I worry a bit about whether or not its design is gripping enough. And, just by looking at the title, you can't figure out what genre it belongs to, right?

Interviewer: Yes, no one can really tell.
Nakata: Well, if you think, "Ooooh, it's capsule!" when you hear "Stay with You" or "Love or Lies", there are just as many songs where you'll think, "what the heck is this?!" (Laughs) It might seem a little crazy. "I wish You" and some other songs are really great, I think. (Laughs)

Interviewer: What's more, "I wish You" is the first time we've heard Kojishima Toshiko-san's voice clearly, and the lyrics are quite profound.
Nakata: The compatibility of the song and the words has to be taken into account when choosing lyrics, and the rhythm should be good. However, this song wasn't written out of a desire to convey the meaning of the lyrics, it's the lyrics of "I wish You" that match the tempo and the melody of the song.

Interviewer: For you, is music or lyrics just one factor that goes into composing your overall image?
Nakata: I think music means different things to the people who hear it. Something referred to as a "good song" may in fact be a good song, but that's the opinion of the listeners themselves. For example, if someone said, "Aww, I cried when I heard it" it meant the timing was right for the listener. Which is why there is no song that will always be thought of as a "good song" by everyone who listens to it. If you think about it like that, we tend to make music that we would enjoy and want to listen to. And, that was what came out of PLAYER. I don't know how the listeners will react, but by the time I start composing I'm so jazzed up about it that I'm already thinking, "Anyone who thinks this isn't cool is crazy!" (Laughs)
Side note: my jam right now is 'communication' by COLTEMONIKHA. So good~

OH MY GOD HE DYED HIS HAIR

I just got back from club asia (where he DJs on the first Monday of every month) and I swear to god you could have knocked me over with a feather when he came out. o__O He dyed it some sort of inbetween-brown-black color (really hard to tell with the lighting...or lack thereof) and he didn't have his hair styled at all. I was like....WHAT. WHO ARE YOU.

tbqh, at first I despised it, but it grew on me a little bit by the end of his 90-minute set. I can't wait for pictures to surface somewhere so I can hear other people's input. I'm still stunned. TT__TT

Haha, I try and see him once a month. I always have so much fun!!!

The thing about the natural hair is that is makes him look so...average. I don't know how else to describe it. >__< But yes, since I am currently an unnatural platinum blonde, I can tell you the upkeep is a definite hassle.
