I would switch out a few songs on the English best album, but otherwise it includes most of my favorite English songs by her. I'll buy the US version (as I assume there will be one).

About Utada... it would make no sense for her to say it's a hiatus if she wanna retire... Everything was going to sell far better if she retires xD

when i first saw that tracklist, i was wondering why her english songs were on it. then i realized it's a "Utada" best album.

i don't think she's gonna release any more english albums, so i guess they might as well make a best to end it.

I officially decided to give Utada Hikaru yet another try! Listening to Ultra Blue right now~ Forgot how much I liked "This is Love!"

PLEASE HIKKI STANS DON'T DESTROY ME THIS TIME, that's what pretty much killed her music for me the first time - the crazed fans

And the three new pictures. The first one is weird... The background is really weird. I love the 2nd one and esp the 3rd. The 3rd pic has a hint of mysteries Japanese taste. It's like a Japanese novel about the already deceased lover (or a mysteries girl if you dun want to connect hikki with death

) appearing in front of the forest..

Omg when TITO was released it was horrendous

And yes, some Hikki fans are worse than even the most extreme Ayu fan. But I think that one particularly insane fan is no longer on this forum anymore. Must have gotten banned.

Anyway since I'm not a Hikki fan quite yet, I won't weigh in on her compilation albums too much. But I will say that I am happy she's taking a break because she never really seemed like she was all that into what she was doing. That's just my outside opinion. Hopefully she'll come back bigger than ever.

Oh girl I got yo back! I'm kind of a crazed delusional Hikki fan, but I'd never be mean to someone who's discovering her music!

Have fun! Today I also listened to Ultra Blue, it's such a gorgeous album. Dareka... has to be one of the most beautiful ballads ever made. Be sure to look up the translated lyrics as well, it's like poetry.

I'm only up to COLORS now. The whole album has a sort of ambient feel to it... In a way no track is too over-done, I think "over-produced" is the word I'm looking for. It also kind of feels video-game'ish but not in the same way NEXT LEVEL was. Instead of sounding inspired by a video game, the tracks sound like they could be featured in a video game. They have familiar video game sound effects... I don't know if I'm explaining myself well hahahaha.

TITO isn't fantastic in hikki's discography, as it's too mainstream. But there are a few songs that I like from the album. But oh well I dun like her Epop side anywayz. So let's get our focus back to SC2 instead of UTB

LOL it'd be pretty funny if Universal somehow struck gold with this US compilation album....it'd be wierd if she took #1 and #2 on Oricon at the same time. I don't think that has happened before.

^I dont think people count those as two albums...

but tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. You don't have to sell a ton to get the top spot in Japan, especially if you set the date right.

When you see people in like the 5-10 spots only selling like, a couple thousand...it does make you wonder.

I don't like the idea of releasing an english best. It really means she's sealing the deal with this hiatus. I feel like she's going to die, or never come back to music. Like she's finalizing everything before she "leaves us". An English Best album, AND a Japanese Best album? This all just makes me realize that she really is leaving us for a year and is trying to wrap everything up on a good note before she leaves.
