I agree about Kuu's being better than Jojo's. Kuu's voice is deeper and sexier, which suits the song better, imo. Glad the demo was given to Kuu.

This may sound odd, but Kuu looks good with black guys.

I read all the comments before listening + watching so I had pretty low expectations, but

Koda Kumi, you've done it again Touch Down is so hot and la x5 is the happiest thing I've ever heard (sounds familiar but not sure where from). Her summer singles are her best releases for me and I prefer them to her albums for the most part.

I think Kuu can really work the Western sound though and make it her own. Trying so hard not to listen to the songs again though cuz I know I'll play them to death

Probably a similar situation to Can We Go Back. Songs get shopped around and recorded by various artists before being finally released. I know at least one of Selena Gomez's songs was previously owned by Britney Spears.

EDIT: Okay, I'm in love with Touch Down. Its amazing. I love all the little details in the music, even if it is repetitive.

Lalalalala is alright. Those aren't really my type of songs, but I think she does them well. And the PV is cool. I swear I've heard the song before though. And she also needs to get the stylist who does Ayu's boobs lol

Touchdown is soooo ghetto omg. I can't even. And the PV is like ghetto beyonce x madonna outfits, x the black guy.

She does look good with black guys though. Damn.

My final verdict on the songs/PVs

La x5: As soon as I heard this was going to be a PLC/Hashire-esque song, right away I knew I wasn't going to like it. The pictures/videos from the set didn't make me more interested in it either and after listening to it I still don't like it. I really wish she'd stop making songs like these

Touch Down: I don't love this song from first listen, but I know I will love it after the single has been released. The PV is pretty hot too. It's like Britney's Scream & Shout (Remix) MV meets CL's The Baddest Female MV. I'm really bothered by that random person dancing in some parts though

I don't really feel like the songs are the same as the ones she's always been releasing.

These are so western. Like I'm pretty sure I've heard Lalalala on the radio, and I'm pretty sure I've heard Touch down in my nortena cousin's car.

I can't say that about anything else she's released before Japonesque. I think they might have the same feel, but musically, idk. Her and Namie be snatchin some demos lol

Although Kuu's been doing the hip hop-inspired thing for a while, its always had a hint of J-Pop to it. Touch Down is truly ghetto. It even puts Namie's stuff to shame. Honestly, I'm surprised she picked something so risky, as it doesn't seem like something Japan would like, save for the B-Kei kids who are obsessed with hip hop culture.
