Not trying to insult Namie, because I love her upbeat stuff, but I think she sucks badly at ballads and hers are usually VERY generic, unlike Ayu, the only generic ayu ballad I can think off from the top of my head is Daysand that song still turned out surprisingly good.

How did this turn into something about Namie though? Can't people like both? I like both Ayumi AND Namie's ballads, but for completely different reasons.

That's exactly what I think ^^ I love some of Namie's older ballads, even though she hasn't had a good one since Baby Don't Cry, even though it wasn't really a ballad. Come, 4 Seasons and I Will were purely amazing, but she doesn't sing stuff like that anymore.

yet as I said, Namie doesn't really do stuff like that anymore I do like both, but I appreciate one over the other. After all when it comes to being an artist I wouldn't really say that Amuro is truly one.

same here, they sound surprisingly strong in some parts.. i think this song will be very difficult for her to sing live.. like extremely hard. i actually can't imagine her nailing it, but hopefully she won't do too bad.

Since when did Ayu singing loudly = screaming? The chorus of You were... doesn't sound like Ayu yelling B&G in concert at all, you know, haha.

I love this song so much already... the chorus is just amazingly strong and powerful but really bittersweet and sad at the same time. Her vocals are stunning, and the melody is really beautiful. And yeah, I love the rockish arrangement really too This is one of those songs that just screams Ayu, in a positive way.

But what is the point of even calling Namie's integrity as an artist into question or calling her song a "silly R&B ballad"? If you really believe that Ayu is better, you shouldn't have to go trying to prove it by bringing someone else down in a thread that really has nothing to do with Namie anyways. It just seems like trying to start trouble.

I like Ayu and Namie (even if I'm become a Namie's fan only last year) both, but I can't understand people who love Can You Celebrate. That song is really boring (even if it has cute lyrics) . NEVER END, Baby Don't Cry, Come and Wishing on the Same Star are my favourite Namie's ballads ever. But it's true Ayu seems have a 'better touch' for ballads, like Hikki. Hikki and Ayu has the best ballads, Namie has the best upbeat/catchy songs in my opinion.

But omg stop to compare them lol. The HQ preview let me like You were... more!
Omg I still in love with the guitars. Ok isn't her best ballad like HEAVEN or Dearest, but it's really good for me.
