Well Sunrise/Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~ was #50 of last year and it sold a couple of thousands less... If the sales and single sales in general will keep on decreasing it might be in the top 50 yearly.

i think even if the quality of ayus singles drastically increased its doubtful it could problem ever have deserving sales. i personally loved this single

expected it to sell a lot more

but more so im just happy to here more good songs from ayu ^_____^

Yes for solo artist nowadays but not for the whole japanese music industry. they are still selling well compared past year and pretty steady.
2006 we have 3 million seller albums
2007 = 2
2008 = 3
2009 = 2
for single stuck at 600k since 2008. its just solo artist's popularity keep decreasing but not for Namie. her sales keep increasing.

Not really, she did have a huge drop from BEST FICTION => PAST<FUTURE and even Ku didn't drop that much from 2nd Session => Black Cherry. Not to mention that WILD/Dr. sales were weak compared to 60s70s80s, so no her sales aren't increasing.

well this is off topic. how many singles kuu had for Black cherry and how many single Namie had for P<F?
kuu had 5 singles and Namie only 1 single to support her album. oh yeah then 2nd session to Black cherry dropped 800K+ which is near a million too

^ Black Cherry dropped by less than 800k which still isn't a million, but the album itself managed to sell over a million (plus we all know that 2nd Session was barely a Best of album). We all know that the singles don't help the albums much now days and Ayu shows that the best, regardless of Days a very solid hit NEXT LEVEL did not beat GUILTY.

The point is Namie's sales are certainly not INCREASING which is quite obvious and that was what I was trying to prove, regardless of who had a bigger drop this just shows that over a million people lost interest in her releases within a year.

erm then how do you explain how the total sales for PAST < FUTURE so far managed to sell more than PLAY ?

Also PLAY was released in 2007 while PAST < FUTURE was released almost 2 1/2 years after that too

ok. BC managed to sell a million because of that year 2007. if she released it this year, I highly doubt it could sell a million. so far BEST~SS~ and BC got #2 yearly and P<F and BF is #1 and #2 so FAR. P<F can drop further or maybe not. from what i was talking, Namie's studio album sales keep increasing while other female artist keep decreasing.

If namie lost 1 million interest , Kuu lost less than 800K interest. we cant use this as the standard of popularity. you see Ayu or Hikki as the sample. Ayu has A BEST sold 4,3 million and after that I am... 2,3 million so that she lost 2 million buyers but she still popular and hikki from First love to DISTANCE 7,5 million to 4,4 million. she lost 3,1 million buyers and she still maintain her popularity with her next album reached #1 yearly. but again female artist sales always decrease while Namie up and up since STYLE to P<F

well I don't want to feed (hope "feed" is the right word XD) to the namie sales discussion...

^But PLAY was released whan namie wasn't as "popular". she was a little off... if namie had the popularity she has now PLAY would have sold more! She is selling more because her popularity increased with 607080, if not namie would be selling less than ayu and kuu...

yeah.. she's probably the solo female that has more popularity right now, and she's seeling quite good, at least for albums, this album was almost NEW, so for me it was better, she had wild/dr that sold well, good promotion and for me the fact that had ALL new songs instead of 2 is a plus... it's worth to buy it...

but again her single sold less than Rule/Sparkle, when NEXT LEVEL was announced already for only one month after it... so in singles seems that she's at the same leves as Ayu ^^

I really hope Ayu would gain more interest again ^^ A COMPLETE->NEXT LEVEL was a huge drop too... ^^ It would be great if Ayu would be able to sell +500K again for an album...

I would be extreme happy IF her upcoming album could sell at least as same level as NEXT LEVEL. I highly sure upcoming album will sell less again.
