Uh, it should be added to my previous post that I view the two A BEST 2 albums as one album. No matter if it's the same fans buying 2 of it.

That was why i was worried, though. If the same people are buying each version of A BEST 2 and it doesn't look like either version will outsell Secret by too much, that means not many more people were willing to buy her best album. Things might be changing, but best albums used to have widespread appeal since anyone with a slight interest in the artist would pick the album up, but this seems to imply that people aren't that interested in Ayu anymore. Given Kuu's best of flop though, best albums might just not be opular anymore. I guess we'll be able to tell in a fe months.

Wow. 670k seems really high to me for some reason! I think it's great Secret sold that much. It's a great album and deserves its sales.

I think they still have appeal. It might be just avex BEST albums that seem to not do spectacular lately.

In general none of the avex artists seem to do spectacularly, compared to boy bands that is. They still rule the solo singer market.

Johnny's and bands in general usually have high single sales. Solo artists usually have high album sales.

Of course, there are exceptions like Mr. Children since they have both high single and album sales.

Erm... the two BESTs won't make the top 10 at this rate.... but combined her sales will around the same as lasts years if not more.

I'll be happy if both albums reach like 800K or something. Ayu's music hasn't dropped in quality, but it's a shame that her album sales have.

Dunno what the others are, but B'z is the highest selling Japanese music act of all time, with over 80 million albums sold. They've been charttoppers for like...17 years. D:

I thought that about "part of Me" when it first came out too, but it was anything but forgettable for me. The whole repetition of the chorus really got me after a while. It's similar to many of Ayu's previous ballads, but it is still good. I love the melody and the eagerness in Ayu's voice. I think it wasn't the best choice to promote AB2, but that doesn't mean that it is a forgettable or bad song. :]

You guys act like it's the end of the world because Ayu isn't debuting with 1,000,000 in sales with each album anymore. She's been a massive figure in Japan for nearly 10 years, she isn't the hottest thing out there anymore, but people still love her and her music. Also, I think with AB2, it will stay in the charts for best part of the rest of the year, so it may not sell huge amounts every week, but it will keep on chugging away and will eventually sell a respectable amount. Ayu, like any diva, will have her comeback. ^_^

I think as of now koda is selling a little bit more...with the sales of black cherry, BEST B&L, BUT/aisho, second session dvd...and ayu only have a little bit of sales from secret and then A BEST 2 black and white.

But in the long term, it's also obvious that Ayu has sold a ton more than Koda, so meh.
