Apparently Dara wrote a letter to all Blackjacks and gave it to someone to share with everyone. It makes me even more sad about their disbandment
Spoiler:

Kind of funny that she used all 2NE1 song titles to make the letter, lol It's clever but kinda makes it sound a little less sincere/heartfelt? Maybe it's just me, tho

I agree. It's sweet that she wrote the letter, but I feel like it's not really personal, as you said it doesn't seem as sincere as a actual self-written letter would be.

Especially considering that CL and Dara allegedly renewed their contracts in May and Bom didn't. That would mean they knew that the summer comeback would never happen - not that I though it would - but they kept the fans' hopes up just to let them down with the disbandment.
Of course, that is only what I've seen floating around on the internet. I'm not sure if that is true, but honestly I would have liked it more if they just ended the band when Minzy wanted to leave. Just end the band and not make it seem like three people stayed while one just left.

^^maybe they really did not knew. Maybe YG was still getting Bom to sign again, but she just recently decided not to. Yes, it could have been communicated differently - but oh well, its YG.

I think CL and Dara didn't have any power about the future of the band... and probably they weren't allowed to talk about this so it's not really their fault but YG's.

2NE1 was the first proper kpop group that I got into. I'm pretty bummed out that they're basically over for now.

It is disappointing news but they haven't been active for a very long time now so I am not that sad.
To me 2ne1 was the kpop girl group with the most talent. They stuck out to me. I don't even follow kpop that much anymore, I have been feeling like the moment has passed. 2009-2013 I was so into kpop but not so much anymore, and with 2ne1 officially disbanding it just makes me feel like it is the end of an era.
If Bigbang disbands I'll be crushed.

The Golden Era of Kpop is 100% ending, lol It's very upsetting but I feel like the OG groups that got me into kpop are slowly going down, and 2NE1 disbanding is definitely a sign. I mean TVXQ broke up, Jessica left SNSD, Kara broke up, 4Minute broke up, MBLAQ broke up (I think?), Sulli left f(x), Hyunseung left Beast (and then aren't they switching labels or something now too??), Jia left Miss A, Minzy left 2NE1, and now 2NE1 itself is GONE! The second Brown Eyed Girls or Big Bang disband will seriously be the end of Kpop.

And it's especially annoying 'cause I just got my boyfriend into KPop and he's obsessed with all these newer groups and I just can't get into them 'cause my OG faves are gone I've barely been keeping up with the hundred of debuts every year, I always just came back for my 2009-2013 besties and now they're disappearing :/

And I JUST got him into 2NE1 we didn't even get to enjoy a comeback of theirs together Luckily I got to experience CL's concert with him, lol

YG is a liar, he should have posted the news in May that 2ne1 was over, he promised a comeback for summer, then november and now this, i'm so pissed. If you read ParkBom didn't have a contact to renew.

I know 2NE1 will be disbanded with all the CL usa debut thing. Will.i.am saying 2NE1 have the potential for the us market. Didn't he make a us debut album for they? Where is it?.

I like 2NE1 and I didn't want the group to be disbanded for the solo debut of CL.
I don't see the point when the group only have 2 mini albums and 2 albums, this is not serious.

The solo songs are great but why destroy the girlband for nothing? Because CL is doing nothing.

Some of you guys think they disbanded because of CL? This was just the locigal step now, with Minzy and Bom gone.
Nobody of us knows, what happened behind the scenes, so I'd be careful with speculating.

I am not that sad to be honest.
They were inactive for so long and I didn't enjoy their last album that much like the stuff before.
Just gonna listen to the rest.

^I agree, I'm not sure why everyone is blaming CL, it all comes down to YG.
rant
Spoiler:
There are times where record deals focus on a member of a group a little bit more than the others, they think that one member can generate more money from that particular member than the whole group combined so they focus on that one member. They pushed CL more forward but that's not her fault, she's on a contract so she has to do what they say. Minzy left because her contract was expired and she chose not to sign again, I'm still not sure about Bom. If Bom doesn't sign back with them then good for her, the company is a mess. I didn't see YG defended her when the whole "drug controversy" was going on which btw is not a controversy at all, she was prescribed with those pills and I'm guessing she didn't know it was illegal in South Korea. The thing that pisses me off that the whole thing happened back in 2011 but it blew up years later like the fuck is that?

Anyways sorry for rant, I completely went off from what I was saying but is not CL's fault so people need to chill.

I know is not CL who decided this, but YG choose her to make a solo debut and left 2NE1 die and I don't understand this. I'm sure if 2NE1 continued as a band after CRUSH they generate more money than the CL thing.

CL has been a flop

YG has been promising US debut since 2012 and we've had only couple of crappy home made "singles" (dr pepper). who cares about her nowadays

i've never liked CL and i'm just happy other girls doesn't have to be her back singers and dancers anymore!

^are you crazy? she enjoys a pretty huge fanbase for having only one single
I loved all her solo stuff, so here is someone who cares. Speak for yourself.

How has CL been even remotely a flop? She had an incredibly successful US tour, with pretty much every date sold out. And some of her venues were pretty damn big. I can only talk about the crowd in NYC but we were all waiting in line a good 5-6 hours before the doors even opened, and there wasn't an empty seat/space in the house. I talked to so many people after while we waited on CL to walk out and I didn't hear a single complaint about the concert. Everyone loved it, no one complained about hearing 2NE1 songs 'cause we were all just so happy to even see ONE of the girls performig, and we got to see Dara looking happy as fuck the entire time! Yeah I wish CL had called Dara on stage and sang with her, but has anyone ever thought that maybe Dara didn't want to? lol She was there to support CL, she was not there to sing or go on this giant crazy tour with her. But of course online everyone has to talk shit about the smallest things. The KPop fans I met in CL's concert were so much nicer than Korean fans

Dr. Pepper wasn't my favorite, but Hello Bitches is super popular and even Lifted got pretty big. The Late Late Show performance of Lifted was awesome. She's still working on her album, she even said in an interview she knows she's taking a long time but she wants to do this US debut right and doesn't want to rush things. And let's be honest, I'm sure whatever drama went down with YG and 2NE1 that made them disband has probably slowed down her album even more.

A lot of people really like to call artists "flops" just 'cause they don't care about them, but you can't deny when an artist is actually becoming successful. I don't like Beyonce at all, doesn't mean I can call her a flop and be right about it. Thousands of people care about CL, and if her US album ends up being what we're all expecting, her fanbase is gonna grow even more. I have friends that make fun of me for listening to Korean music all the time, but as soon as I play Hello Bitches or MTBD they stfu and go crazy with it, lol. I mean, who can have a whole tour based on 7 solo songs and no new album and have a packed house everywhere she went?

And as for people blaming CL for 2NE1's disbandment, that's just as crazy too. YG probably started pushing her solo stuff even more after Bom's "drug" scandal because Korea turned her back on her, and YG being the dickhead he is, he turned his back on her too so he wouldn't piss off Korea. At that moment he probably thought the group wasn't gonna make any money 'cause of that scandal, so he pushed CL. Minzy prob felt like her career was going nowhere so she didn't resign. And who knows about Bom but with 2NE1 being neglected by YG as bad as they were, I would totally understand if she felt like her career was going nowhere too. Hopefully now she can sign to a label that'll really treat her like she deserves to.

I'm kinda scared about BlackPink because I can already see YG using them like he used 2NE1, and I just hope they don't get fucked over by him. I didn't wanna think they were meant to be 2NE1's replacement but it's kinda obvious that's why their debut and comebacks were so perfectly timed. He definitely wanted to get Blackjacks on BlackPink's side while we waited on 2NE1's comeback, and now that BP has a good sized fanbase he doesn't need 2NE1 at all anymore

(Sheesh that was a lot I'm sorry lotta opinions over here)
