From best to worst: Wake Me Up, Snowy Kiss, Sweet Scar, Ivy.

Ivy I actually haven't listened to once since the first time.

I actually like the PV for Wake Me Up quite a lot, but I could do without the other PVs. Although the scene with Ayu on the car is beautiful.

ugh my laptop...died...So, some points from the long ass post I had from before. **** my life.

Wake Me Up: um I like the composition and the repetitiveness, and the arrangement, whatever. Her vocals are disgusting though, and really unpleasant and I hate them.

Sweet Scar: um it's nice. I like how it's very simple. And if she's not on stage by her damn self singing this in concert I will kill a caterpillar. Seriously. No shuya. No two lovers in white. Nothing. Ayu, and the band. I already know I'm setting myself up for disappointment.

Snowy Kiss: Basically, this song kicks ass. I accidentally listened to the instrumental before this one...and, the instrumental also kicks ass. It has this weird fairy tale remix kinda feel to it. And I really like it.

But anyway. The vocals are nice in it. I forgot to say that about Sweet Scar. I'm really glad her vocals were only unpleasant in the first song...cause I would have sucked to hate this release cause of ugly vocals.

Ivy: um. Right. I like the composition. I HATE the arrangement. The composition and the lyrical melody is already a lot in your face, and the arrangement is just...too much BIG BALLAD....and personally, I think it makes the song really cheesy and insincere, and so I hate it.

I'd really like an acoustic version of some kind for this one.


Yey for the Missing and Melody renditions. They might be better than the originals. Melody probably at least.

Oh yeah, I really like the Wake Me Up remix over the original song. Let's see the snowy kiss remix....Well I like the original. This is a pretty standard remix. It doesn't sound bad, so. Not bad. I like it. Probably won't listen though. Oh woah it just went all dubstep Meh.


Overall, 8/10. Missed having a bad ass song like snowy kiss. So yey for that. Everything else..wasn't bad. I won't be listening to them, but they're fairly good.

I felt that Wake me up was a poor example of a epic Phrased Differently song because it didn't sound as awesome as I was expecting based on what I heard from two CMs that I saw. It was rather saddening because usually I'm always addicted to their songs but this just made me think, "is this really their song...? o.o". Lyrics are great and different than usually, which I like a lot. I need to see the PV to see if it changes my opinion on the song.

I loved Sweet scar since the first listen. It gave me this SEASONS vibe that I always love though I have a love/hate relationship with the song. Sweet scar was absolutely beautiful. It's also my #1 favorite song on again. I haven't seen the PV for this song either but I probably will eventually.

Snowy kiss made me think of Namie's Concentration 20 at once. I've always liked TK's electronic vibes in his music and I was happy he brought them back. As a whole this song made me feel bored as hell. I couldn't concentrate on it at all. And it should've been a minute shorter imo. A little bit too long for me.

Ivy is my #2 favorite song on the album. I really love the early 00s vibe here too. Most notably this song gives me the same feel than Namie's Himawari, which is one of my favorite songs ever. Ivy is beautiful and even made me cry a little, which is always a great thing imo.

I loved the acoustic orchestra versions for Missing and Melody so much♥

Wake me up and snowy kiss remixes were nice too. I think Wake me up (Remo-con remix) should have been the original version because it gave me the right fierce feelings that original mix couldn't give me. Awesome work. Snowy kiss (Shohei Matsumoto remix) was just as good as I was expecting from this remixer. I'm familiar with his work as he has remixed Kuu's songs for every DRIVING HIT'S album there is.

As a whole package I'd say this "mini" is great, but for me it can't pass the epicness of LOVE at all. Even if again was great, I still felt that it lacks something but maybe it's just that I wasn't in a huge Ayu mood while listening to it for the first time. Time will show if I will be crazy over it at some point but at the moment I'm not a big fan. Maybe somewhere in 2013 I will suddenly realize how awesome this really is, who knows? It happened with Secret and A Song for xx too, so I wouldn't be surprised that again will face the same situation too.

I feel nothing about this release. The one thing that irritates me that none of these songs have the potential to become a hit. I want a hit. Sweet scar was very nice though. It's strange but I need her to promote it to me a bit (like tv-live) so I will like it. It happened with progress after Kouhaku

"Snowy kiss" - is my most favorite in this mini. I really love the arrangement, the beat, rhythm, bass, etc but the lyrical melody (thanks Melody for the term) is just lacking specifically in the chorus and it could have been better but it's not a major problem for me. It reminds of WHATEVER and LOVEppears era.

"Wake me up" - is so catchy for my ears. It reminds me of Rule and Sparkle. I like it too!

"Sweet Scar" - I really don't take this song seriously when I heard the preview. I don't like her vocals in here.

"Ivy" - so-so song.

I agree that the new songs really sound great! The PVs ... I can't really care much for them, Ayu's done more creative things before. But hurray for club-sounding Ayu!

I'm done with classes this quarter so now I have the time for my detailed review.

I've listened through this album about 5-6 times.

The album 8/10
I wouldn't say this album is "unique" or "show's Ayu's creativity" like advertised. However it is refreshing and unique in a way, but these songs also sound like typical Ayu stuff, but really good Ayu stuff. The original and remix versions on this album are fantastic, top notch. This mini is like an extension of Party queen. Each track is solid and different from the other one.

Wake me up 8/10
This song reminds me of Heartplace / Rule for some reason. I really love the male background vocals they mix well with Ayu and I feel after this album she should do it more. The mixing is really nice with lots of cool sound effects. I like her english and the long "goooooooooo" is awesome. I'm really satisfied with this song it's another great song to add to my workout collection. I rather enjoyed the PV, it's not her best and a bit boring but it fit well with the song. 8/10

Sweet scar 7.5/10
This song reminds me of Don't look back / HANABI / rainy day in a way in their simplicity, instruments and melody. In general I am satisfied with this song I feel it will grow on me more over time as of now I'm not in love with it. I found the PV pretty but boring (I know I know shoot me for this but I like the PVs for Wake me up and snowy kiss better). The stare at the end was intense and made the PV. I feel this song is missing a little "umph" that extra little something-something. 7.5/10

Incredible song from Ayu I can't stop listening to this track. You really feel the anger and sadness in her voice during the last verse. This song gives me the same feelings as decision / fated / Microphone I really loved the PV I feel it suited the song and was directed well. Her and Mario look like two eagles fighting with their talons exposed. This song is emotional and raw and I feel Ayu has been long due for another "angry" song like this because we all get angry. Again, I love the male background vocals it adds and intensity to the song especially since this is a song about a break up so having male and female vocals combined it sounds like a verbal fight. The melody is great how it dips into lower notes as the music dips at the same time it adds and sense of hopelessness. The instruments are amazing all of the electric guitar nots 9/10

Ivy 7/10
I like this song more than Melody but it's still has that sort of weak link feel to it for me. This is another song to me that is attempting to be "Key II" but Key ~eternal tie ver.~ will never be beat. The song builds up nicely near the end and her vocals and generally nice. I won't skip this song but I won't seek out to listen to it specifically. I think this song will grow on me more. 7/10

Missing (Orchestra version) 7/10
This is a nice orchestra version they did a good job, not as good as some in the past but they got really unique with it. The melody of this song is a bit strange in tempo and I can imagine it was hard to do an orchestra version of this song while still making it sound good. In general I like it 7/10

Melody (Acoustic Piano version) 7.5/10
I like this more than the original mix it suits the song more. It's very teddy bear / Key / end roll in this mix. This song sounds much better in it's simplicity vs having too much background music it's much better to allow Ayu's voice to shine more and the music less. 7.5/10

Wake me up (Remo-con rmx) 9/10
Really awesome remix and it suits the song really well this almost sounds like an original mix. I like the dubstep in this remix because it's not too much bass it's just the right amount of dubstep. I really like the quick and angry-sounding "wake up" parts it adds to the unique tempo of this remix. Another great addition to my workout collection

snowy kiss (Shohei Matsumoto remix) 8/10
Another awesome remix it suits the song as well. The melody of the remix music is addicting this is a great club song that I could dance to over and over. Well made and much better remixes than LOVE
