The first time I watched Utada Hikaru's Be My Last at Bokura no Ongaku I got all choked up and watery.....>.>

Also, I forgot to mention Bonnie Pink's Rope Dancer.
I listened to it last night and almost cried.....hehe

YUZU - 栄光の架橋(Eiko no Kakehashi)/The Bridge to Glory

This was the NHK/Japanese news theme for the Olympics of 2004. Its lyrics are very emotional. I guess they're hopeful yet about the turbulence/turmoil of young life.

YUZU - 桜木町Sakuragi-chou/Sakuragi-Town

This song is really near to me because I spend most of my time in Japan in Yokohama and this is one of my favourite places in the world. It's about the singer going to visit the place (Sakuragi-chou) where he and his girlfriend used to meet and his sentiments upon realizing that she will never be waiting to meet him there again.

BUMP OF CHICKEN - 車輪の唄/Song of the Wheels

This song REALLY gets to me. It's about a guy who is taking his good friend, who is a girl, to the train station because she is headed off to a far-away city he doesn't know well. And the tires of his bike and the wheels of the train seem to be crying out in sorrow. And he knows they'll never be the same again, but he has hope they'll meet again.

BUMP OF CHICKEN - 天体観測 - Stargazing

BUMP really has a knack for getting to me. This one, too, is about young and inexperienced kids unable to communicate their feelings. So the guy just stands there in the cold, unable to hold the girl he wants to tell about his feelings.

Begin/Natsukawa Rimi - 涙そうそう/Nada Sousou

This one, I really think everyone in Japan agrees with me on. All the old people seem to cry when they hear this one. I dunno. It's a natsumero. Not necessarily 'sad' as much as... I guess reflecting on the difficulties of staying in touch/staying together in life. And how short-lived everything is.

Ayumi Hamasaki - For My Dear

This one's another one about not being able to say the words that mean the most to you. (Do we sense a pattern here?) It's really an emotionally-charged song for me. I think Ayu had very lonely teenage years.

Ayumi Hamasaki - End roll

Saying good-bye. Nuff said. I'm sure you have all read the lyrics. This is a song that gave me a swift kick when I was going through a tough time.

PORNO GRAFFITI - 音の無い森・Oto no nai mori/Soundless Forest

It's a song that really moves me and spurs me on. I don't think it's necessarily natsumero for me, but definitely makes me feel like "hey, I"m alive"

Cocco - 雲の果路へKumo no Hateji e/To the Edge of the Clouds
Cocco - ポロメリア Polomeria

Cocco really has a talent for cutting through my emotions and getting down to the knitty-gritty. Her lyrics are so straight forward and completely unapologetic. Polomeria, especially, with its references to not being able to smile straight and running beyond a wired fence, really speaks to me.

Cocco's song 'Raining' is amazing... It's really heart-wretching.

Mariah Carey- whenever you call
"I won’t ever be too far away to feel you
And I won’t hesitate at all
Whenever you call
And I’ll always remember
The part of you so tender
I’ll be the one to catch your fall
Whenever you call"

Ayumi Hamasaki- Heaven
"側にいて愛する人時を超えて形を変えて
ふたりまだ見ぬ未来がここに
残ってるから

信じて愛する人私の中で君は生きる
だからこれから先もずっと
サヨナラなんて言わない"

Crystal Kay- Motherland
"私は君にとっての空でいたい
哀しみまでも包み込んで
いつでも見上げるときはひとりじゃないと
遠くで思えるように
帰る場所であるように"

Hmmmm... I'd have to say:

Ayumi Hamasaki - Memorial address
Bright Eyes - Poison Oak
The Arcade Fire - In The Backseat
The Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
The Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
The Arcade Fire - Une Anee Sans Lumiere
...okay, so basically any Arcade Fire song. They all have a vice grip on my tender heart.

Ayumi's Heaven really touched my heart since the first time I listened to it.
Maaya Sakamoto's "Okitegami" and "Another Gray Day in the Big Blue World", Emiko Shiratori's "Lonely Planet", BEPA's "Brat'ja" and Lene Marlin's "Another day" still make me cry sometimes. Oh, and Loreena McKennitt's "Dante's Prayer" is a really beautiful song too!

eminems new song is actually really sad hard it on the radio today

eminem - when I'm gone

The songs about how his success has ruined his relationship with his daughgter. its actually his last song, hes retiring now, so hes just talking about how hes sorry that he pushed her away while he attended the crowds.

Quote:

Sixty thousand people, all jumping out their seat
The curtain closes, they're throwing roses at my feet
I take a bow and thank you all for coming out
They're screaming so loud, I take one last look at the crowd
I glance down, I don't believe what I'm seeing
"Daddy it's me, help Mommy, her wrists are bleeding,"
But baby we're in Sweden, how did you get to Sweden?
"I followed you Daddy, you told me that you weren't leavin'
"You lied to me Dad, and now you make Mommy sad
"And I bought you this coin, it says 'Number One Dad'
"That's all I wanted, I just want to give you this coin
"I get the point - fine, me and Mommy are going"
But baby wait, "it's too late Dad, you made the choice
"Now go out there and show 'em that you love 'em more than us"
That's what they want, they want you Marshall, they keep.. screamin' your name
It's no wonder you can't go to sleep, just take another pill
Yeah, I bet you you will. You rap about it, yeah, word, k-keep it real
I hear applause, all this time I couldn't see
How could it be, that the curtain is closing on me
I turn around, find a gun on the ground, **** it
Put it to my brain and scream "die Shady" and pop it
The sky darkens, my life flashes, the plane that I was supposed to be on crashes and burns to ashes
That's when I wake up, alarm clock's ringin', there's birds singin'
It's Spring and Hailie's outside swinging, I walk right up to Kim and kiss her
Tell her I miss her, Hailie just smiles and winks at her little sister
Almost as if to say...

hmmm. since this is general music I'll skip my fav JPop artists and try to focus on American or English ones...

Kelly Clarkson's Because of You has alot of meaning behind it...
Maroon 5's Sunday Morning is just so cozy and wonderful to snuggle with your lover too

and another one of Maroon 5's songs is called 'The Sweetest Goodbye"... Now that is a HOT song!

I would say...look at the performance from Memorial address^^
And I almost crying when I'm hearing Dir en grey-Mushi and Dir en grey-Zakuro.
This songs are great.
And when I'm seeing the live performance I always have to fight not to cry.
