Chances are the next single will be from a new album. But who knows? She did a lot this year... maybe she'll take a small hiatus? She's also on tour until early May... so that will cut into her studio time.

i think we just gotta get over the fact that avex arent going to be releasing any more 10track remix singles like they used to... so the next ayu single will probably be the new song, instrumental version, and possibly maybe some remixes of two other songs, maybe from the [RAINBOW] album or whatever... i admit i do miss the days when H/\L and izumi miyazaki were regularly participating remixers on ayus singles...
maybe nothing ever really stays the same...
im still well looking forward to any new release however... what would be cool was if she had a b-men kyoku / b-side track...
avex-san, onegai ga arima~~~ssu!!

I've been looking at other avex artists singles and they now come with almost no remixes, if they at least get one.....I thought it was happening only to ayu at first but then I have been checking other artists discographies and have also noticed that their past singles had an average amount of remixes and started being cutten progressively in the newer singles until they had none. I'm even afraid there might not be an Ayu-mi-x V at all....just hope I'm wrong.....

Well, wasn't DAT having those long remix singles? Or have those stopped too?

hahah I was hoping someone would ask that

DAT really suffered a lot!!! Their faraway single had like 4 remixes of the original song and other 4 extend dub versions of the first 4 mixes (pretty lame right) and the instrumental. It was their first single.
Guess how many tracks had on DAT's second single "My faith"?
Only 2!!!! The first track is "My Faith", the second one is "My Faith"Instrumental
DAT's 3rd single: futurity, only 3 tracks, futurity, futurity instrumental, secret bonus track - High-Spirit-

DAT only got some remixes for their debut. I knew it all from the beggining that avex had nothing to do in "wanting to promote them aside of Ayu", cause now you can see their singles can't even be called Maxi anymore (My faith has only 2 tracks so it's not a maxi), while Ayu's still can.

I don't think DAT has had any new remixes lately (please correct me if I'm wrong). I don't think they are catching on like Avex would have liked. They don't seem very popular.

That's really a pity too cuz their songs are quite nice. I don't like how they're being released though, on the mini-albums. They should have waited and released an album... the presentation of mini-albums is rarely a good idea... people see it as a ripoff and sales go down.

Anyway, I really doubt ayu-mi-x 5 will happen, since ayu-mi-x 4 a) didn't do so well and b) had those "+selection" tracks on it... the best-of disease is that it's kinda over after that. Remember how ayu DIDN'T want "A Best" released? She knew avex's intentions were to basically end her career after that cd. Other artists like Aikawa Nanase never got back their popularity after the best-of cd was released; ayu was LUCKY. But honestly, the same thing would go for ayu's ayumix series. Best-of = End. Ayu-mi-x 5 may not happen. Granted we waited nearly 5 months after "Duty" for ayu-mi-x 3, so it wouldn't necessarily have been released by now (even though the gap has usually been 3 or so months on other albums). But it probably would have at least been announced or rumored about by now. Plus ayu's style is quite different, and avex's way of marketing her is different. The remixes on ayumixes 3 and 4 weren't nearly as good as ayumix 2, because she simply isn't as mixable as she used to be.

Honestly i'm not expecting ayumix 5 to happen.... i do think a ballads is the replacement for it. If it does happen the remixes won't be as good, although the acoustic orchestra versions would probably be nice. Plus, the non-stop megamix thing just bugs me cuz all i want is long, standalone versions of the new mixes excerpts from ayu-mi-x III was great to have XD cept there are still a few mixes from both ayu trance 2 and ayumix 3 that we haven't gotten standalone yet.... x_X and one remix from ayumix 4 (evolution "razor remix") has only been released on analog in standalone form! It's impossible to find an mp3 of. Annoying.

I also prefer the standalone tracks. Too bad there's not a standalone track for every mix....
Avex has really cutten off the remixes from their list....all you can see now are a few remixes remixed by their own people (like H/\L for example). I just hope it will change though....

I also agree that her songs are not as mixable as they were before. Most remixes for M and evolution sucks in my opinion. (of course M Above&Beyond is a great exception). I am... was able to get one of the best remixes in my opinion though (I am Night clubbers mix)

Going back to Impact's and Delirium-Zero's comments, I really was disappointed with the evolution and M remixes. In fact, the only M remix that I was actually impressed with was the Acoustic Orchestra version and now the A BALLADS version. All the other ones are horrible and completely extract the beauty of the song. As for evolution, the mixes will never be "decent" because of the song's nature. It's difficult to do superb remixes of a rock song such as evolution and still make it somewhat resemble the original. It would have been interesting to hear an AO version of evolution with a piano accompaniment in the background, but it was left out from the Ayumix 4 bundle.

I was actually impressed with a few mixes from Ayumix 4 NSMM, mainly M, SEASONS, and I am. I still can't understand why someone would remix old material to make it "hipper" and match with new material in Ayumix 4? It was a bit of a turnoff similar to how A BALLADS was a bit of a turnoff, but it was still in the "okay" range.

Because of all the changes Avex and Ayu are making, I have no idea what to expect next. RAINBOW (the album) wasn't as great as expected, A BALLADS lacked originality in song choice, Cyber Trance 2 lacked originality in song choice also, and no Real me/RAINBOW single. Releases that are supposed to be done according to what tradition has set are no longer occuring. Instead, it's just random ideas that pop up from the Avex execs -- use the same songs for every single release.

Maybe Ayu is losing her creativity. Maybe Avex is losing it's mind. Whatever it is, it's easy to see that the future won't be as bright as it was during the good ol' days of Duty and I am. . .

at the time of writing this i guess u were right... but has ur faith been restored since mixes like:

HANABI - 天の岩戸開いたよREMIX 第2章 -
ourselves "kentaro takizawa mix"
Free&Easy "Huge Heavenly Mix"
No way to say "Vandalise/Realise Mix" [j/k, that mix is cheesy :p]

totally agree about [evolution] i think i hate all mixes apart from LAW is Q mix, its quite trancey as i remember, at least i think its that one.. i never listen to it thou...
and the UFO mix from disc2 of ayu-mi-x4 is ok... the razor mix was a letdown because parts of it r really cool, but there are parts which sound really stupid, so much so that imo they ruin that track completely.

but im surprised u dont like NEUROTIC EYE's Mix by KO-I, its an awesome mix imo, i love the build-up and there are so many layers going on at the end...
also, at the end when ayu sings "MARIA-ah-ah-ah" over&over u can hear this cry of despair as her voice trails off, its very moving...
i used to like the RANK-M mix a lot, i still like the synth melody in the background and the bass also, but its like hard house and i dont usually go for that?
i think the van Eyden vs. M.o.r.p.h. & the tectonic shift vs. andr visior remixes were pretty good also...

whats going on here?
