Truehappiness, i understand what you had meant. I wonder if the retailers are dissapointed that the bread of their company isnt selling. Ayumi's cds use to be like Madden football video games here in the US. That's the bread and butter of their money. But i guess the trends are changing so much no one really is interested. Digital downloading is taking a huge toll on the music industry i think that is where everyone is getting their A-BEST 2 from or maybe they all already have all the albums and pvs and this wasnt needed.

Does anyone understand what the translation SAYS?

It seems it is saying that avex was planning on putting A BEST 2 out next year for 10th anniversary but decided to use it for tha asia tour. Also, it says something about Ayu visiting Taiwan next spring for her 10th anniversary. Probably the next tour!

I know RIAJ uses this number for its certification, but they're not that reliable. Oricon actually uses physical sales, so when they certify a million seller, IT IS a million seller.

This "two piece 1.9 million" confuses me. Is it 1.9 million EACH or TOGETHER? Each, that's #@%^#@!%$#@^% extraordinary. I would understand together though. It's a lot more credible.

^I think it's together. If it was individually, then avex really miscalculated the success.

well avex makes money by whatever amount of cds shipped to the retailers right? so in the end avex made alot of money even though the albums havent reached the shipped amount.

I dont know how it is in japan, but no store in my country buys cds until they are sold. what do you think they do to unsold cds? throw them away although they bought them? no, they return to the record label.

No, since the albums will be separated.

They might put a heavy discount to get rid of the old inventory. Like in a year, the BESTs might be 50% off or something.

Didn't anyone think it weird that Avex released A Best 2 mere months after Secret was released?

If you asked my, A Best 2 killed the sales for Secret because people wanted a compliation album more than a original album with new songs... it's almost as if the two albums are competing for sale.

Or maybe I'm just going crazy...

The Ayu Playstation 2 "games" (or whatever they were supposed to be) comes to mind. I think they're selling them for around 8 dollars a pop on the online retailers...

^ i agree with you it did kill the sells of SECRET. A-BEST 2 was past release date so not many people are gawking over it. It should have very well been released about 3 years ago or even 4. It's a real shame.

Truehappiness : Madden is very popular game, for the video game industry and retailers who sale it. They make money off that and expect it to sell millions and it does all the time.

Ayumi Hamasaki is japan's money maker in music it use to sell millions now it has lost its luster with audience because of digital downloading or over doing stuff. So her stuff doesnt sell as it use to. I guess like many others here, feel Avex had pretty high standards for A-BEST 2 and shipped so many copies and people are barely buying them.
