Sure, I agree - it's not "strong" enough, but I can think of way more crappy songs that became hits. And unlike you and me there are people who love it.

I actually do love the song.

But I live in America, and I know the industry. And I know the market.

It doesn't matter about past songs, this isn't going to be a hit because one, the language factor, if her english isn't perfectly clear to me, I'll doubt it will be to anyone else, (I swear she says armpit at some point but w/e), and second, even though the style of the song is more fitting...it's sort of just...bad "eat you up"? seriously? At least they were smart and made it super catchy. They are trying really hard to make it work, but it just doesn't because the song itself is not catchy enough, and her vocals aren't what people are used to.

She's going to need major promotion for this, and that could go either way. It could either work in her favor, or make everyone sick of her before she even has a chance.

Like I said, I like the song, I really do, but, I mean, I think she's gonna be 50/50 on fans in america, and that's not good enough to make her as popular as she was in Asia.

But hey, at least people will know who she is. She might even have decent sales.


Do you know why I said Kuu would work better? Because despite the fact that some people hate it, the sexy factor is huge here, not to mention the fact that her vocals are a little more reminiscent of what is decent here in America. She's also a great dancer and her videos are entertaining.

Guys seriously would LOVE her. And girls would probably love her style.

Her ballads would probably fail miserably though.

I understand what you're saying, and sure Ku's sex factor would work better as BoA isn't really going for that style but BoA is a better dancer. TABOO is more catchy without a doubt, but I simply hated the PV as she had way better PVs with better ****ty scenes. But as you said there are 50% chances BoA will make it, and I believe SM isn't ready to spend their money and get nothing in return.
