Thank you for taking the time to make this list I really appreciate it! Never knew she had so many songs (even with all the different versions).

That varies from DJ to DJ really... but basically, remixes go like this:

01. Extended/Club/Vocal mix: The full version of a remix, as a DJ has usually intended it to sound. Usually between 6 and 10 minutes long.
02. Instrumental mix: Same as above, but with the singer's vocals taken out (usually just the lead vocals; samples & echoes usually remain)
03. Dub Mix: Usually a similar length to the full remix, but perhaps a bit shorter. Vocals are only selectively "dubbed" into the track, rather than it being a remix of the whole song. Sometimes the arrangement or some instruments are changed. Sometimes there's VERY little change from the Extended version, sometimes it's an entirely different piece of music. Again, it varies from DJ to DJ really.
04. Radio Edit: A severely shortened version of the Extended/Club/Vocal mix. Usually cut down to 3-5 minutes so it fits more easily on a remix album CD, and of course, so it can be played on the radio during the album's promotion.

There are other edits that happen too - acappellas sped up to fit the speed of the song, vocal-and-drums-only mixes, and even just drums-only.... or new pieces of music based on the samples & melody of the original remix. These are intended for other DJs to use (as segues during non-stop sets and such) rather than for casual listeners to just sit & listen to.

an edit can be the same as a 'clip'. edit usually implies that it is a cut from an originally longer version, so I don't see the point...? after all, these are different tracks by ayu, even if they only differ in length, the 'extension'. same with the megamixes.

also, the tags are not correct if the inlets are really your guideline. but she doesn't follow strict guidelines anway. still, mostly her song appendixes are in inverted commas, not brackets.

otherwise this is a pretty impressive list.

Often the radio edits & dubs are slightly different (treatment of the second verse of kanariya "Jonathan Peters Club Mix" is different in the 10-minute remix vs. the PV version, for example), not just cut up like radio edits of regular pop songs are (but even if radio edits of her regular songs happen, they're included - see kanariya). If an edit ever got a release that I know of, it's included.

The reason I've included those but not clips from non-stop megamixes is simply for the sake of redundancy - I didn't want the same track listed what I deem to be an unnecessary number of times (especially since there are about 20 megamix CDs that I know of that ayu was featured on in Europe, and there's no way anyone would want to wade through listings of all those tracks). But if a song was included in a nonstop megamix, and ONLY released that way, I included it. (I also went ahead & included "starting over" from ayu-mi-x III's NSMM just... because. XD)

And I only used parentheses for the remix titles for readability only, this list is NOT meant for tagging reference, just a checklist. I've maintained capitalization (or tried to anyway) simply because there is sometimes a difference (A Song is born vs. a song is born, for example). For the sake of differentiating different tracks, I didn't feel the type of bracket or notation around remix names made a difference. I do encourage people to check the tracklists on the original CD for accurate tagging.

Reggie: Yes it does (I didn't forget it, did I?? omg!), and thank you for the typo correction ^_^

It isn't a full song instrumental. When the RAINBOW album was first released, first pressings came with a code to access a limited-run website where a 45-second instrumental clip was played. Fans sent in their feelings on it and ayu used those ideas to help her with the lyrics. Originally it was planned to be a single, but it got put on A BALLADS.

So there isn't a full instrumental, just that 45-second clip that came out before the full song did.

Such a difference if you count this kind of list versus just all of her songs, you know what I mean?

Thank you, Deli~~

Ok, I am a die-hard ayu fan. I own just about everything she has ever released. I have nine hundred some tracks on my iPod; however, there are some remixes that I'm not recognizing. Could anyone be so kind as to tell me where they came from? And/or possibly upload them if you have them?

AUDIENCE (Feelin' U Mix)
still alone (Bad Attitude Remix)
still alone (SPARK ISLAND Remix)
Duty (STEPPIN' DUB MIX)
Duty (Under Lounge club Mix)
Naturally (Skipraiders Extended Mix)
Trauma (Thunderpuss Tribe-A-Pella)

Any help is appreciated! Thanks =o)
