Do you must like someone's personality / appearance to like their music too?

I tend to like singers tht are heavily involved with their music production... If they are not singer-songwriters, they choose personally what they are going to sing... So I guess... Yeah, the personality is important cuz it affects how the music is going to sound in the end

Hard question, cuz nothin' can stop me from liking the music, but if behaviour of that person is not alright I will decide to not buy his/her cds. so my answer is I dont care if the person is pretty or ugly, I care for behaviour, but only for buyin' its cds.

yeah i agree.

to me their personality matters a lot. i don't want to support someone who isn't a good person. a lot of artists have been ruined for me from watching interviews or reading quotes from them.

No, appearance doesn't matter at all to me (as in wether the artist is ugly/pretty by common standards) but personality matters really much to me, because it's like, music IS the artist.

So in example: if an artist is cocky, self-centered and disrespectful towards other people it will most likely reflect on the music (assuming the artist is pretty much in control over the music, esp. lyrics). If the artist is open-minded, genuine and innovative it will reflect in the music.

To be a fan of a persons music then I don't have to like the person.
But to watch someones videos and watch them perform etc then I have to be a fan of the person. I've never judged someone on their looks anyway.

No, it doesn't matter for me, only the music is important.

I don't like Lady GaGa and Britney Spears's personalities but their music is catchy and I enjoyed it.

Personality.. hm.. It's like what others have said, it's just the extra added bonus.
Of course, I'll enjoy the music from an artist I genuinley like just that much more than an artist I'm neutral towards (personality-wise).

Though Kuu is really the only artist I'm 110% totally in love with as both an artist & an idol.

Stephanie is the best example for me. She's not that beautiful in comparison to other artists, but her voice is angelic and her music is ultra-catchy. I support her and am willing to buy her music.

Lady GaGa is just ridiculous in person. Hearing her speak makes me want to stab out my ear drums. BUT, her music is very catchy and she has a good singing voice.

I'll admit, when I was a kid it was all about the appearance. Whether you are pretty or odd looking, you had to be something out of the normal for me to have been interested in your music. But after I determined I liked their music, I didn't care what they looked like because I loved them lol. Now that I'm older, I don't really care what you look like period. I don't have time to nit pick at what's wrong or right with you, I have my own appearance to worry about. Besides, it's all about those sweet, sexy jams, no? xD;

I think it depends.. it can be really different from person to person.

Like eerhm.. the best example I can come up with is MJ. Seeing him in interviews and so on, he seems to really be this lovely person that he's singing as he is. I think that's really something that promotes his music

But look at ayu, if I did find out that she's just the biggest ****** on Earth, I'm think I would quite much drop her, because something that keeps me in her music is that I follow the news and so on, of a person I like..

Maybe she is, but she's an quite unknown character. I can't even really say that I like her, cause she has really no personality to the outside, imo
