^Sorry, but, much of those people going to the concert is because a) she represents Kpop, so they would go to the concert no matter the person performing and b) Blackjacks supported CL because she's was part of 2NE1, thus they thought supporting her, they were supporting the group.

SMTown was crowded, Epik High US Tour was crowded. They represent Kpop, it's not that CL is wonderful so that she can sell out tickets because she's so amazing.

CL career is a flop. She debuted already 985457 times and didn't suceed. Dr. Pepper was terrible, Hello Bitches didn't really make her more known and Lifted is pretty dated and got lukewarm response.

She performed on The Late Late Show? So what? Girls' Generation performed on Live with Kelly and Late Show with David Letterman and even so their efforts were fruitless in the US.

Not mentioning that YG played their fans. "Papa YG" knew very well that 2NE1 wasn't coming back when Minzy left, and they stated the 3 girls were working on new music, something that wasn't true. If it was true, there would be no reason not to release it before the end of their contracts. So YG used the fans unconditional support to CL's benefit. Do you really think that being a fan of the group translates into support a solo effort by a member? Tiffany from SNSD knows very well that's not true. Just look at her debut solo sales.

So your friends go wild when listening to Hello Bitches? again, so what? I Am The Best is huge here in Brazil, everybody dances to it in the clubs, but again, ask around to see if anyone invested in getting to know more of 2NE1? No one cares.

So, don't say CL is successful, queen of Kpop, or whatever, because she hasn't done anything noteworthy so far. At most, her english debut has been laughable. Don't forget that Utada Hikaru, BoA and the Wonder Girls conquered a lot more than her and they're nobody when it comes to fame in the US (not counting their previous supporters).

I think the image CL is trying to sell of her to the media is very wrong, misogynistic and xenophobic. I myself would be glad if she didn't suceed in her endeavors because she's not bringing anything new or positive to the table. But, oh well, we shall see.

^yeah, it is YG who is to blame and I can#t believe people just don't see that. Koreans attack idols for like everything, but how about blaming the management for once?

edit: ahtka-chan, you should check your facts! Your are obviously not objective at all. You did not like Dr. Pepper? oh well, i did + it was not even her song, it was a feature (and she had a skrillex song before). You think Lifted is dated? ohh too bad, many critics said it was the actual summer anthem - effortlessly and without trying. Hello bitches was a cool track, not meant as a debut, but rather as track for fans who keep supporting her and wait for the album, Yes, she takes her time, but as said by Louass, that is better than rushing things. Her instagram followers are increasing, her views are increasing, her celebrity fans get more - she did everything that was in her own power right so far. If you just want to bash her, you should maybe visit another place.

+ no one ever said she is the Queen of anything - and that is not the standard to measure things by at all.

CL is definitely not a flop in the US.
I would say she is doing good but not great. It's not like shes "the next big thing" but she is seeing decent success. Her English songs received mixed to positive reviews from fans and critics alike. She does have a following here and has connections to people in the US entertainment and fashion industries. Yes I am sure that some of the people who attended her concerts just like Kpop and wanted to be involved. But most of the people there went because they love 2ne1 and love CL.
CL has done things that have rubbed me the wrong way too. But nothing so bad that she is now a bad person.
For me personally, the only thing she has flopped with is her claiming she wants to be this big role model for Asian women. But when I see videos like Hello Bitches and the lyrics of Lifted, I don't really believe her.
As someone who is in America, I would say that CL is doing well for a foreign artist. The worst case scenario is that her debut album does okay and only maintains her current fanbase and does not garner mainstream success.

So apparently Dara wrote another letter for Blackjacks and posted it on social media this time. CL also wrote a letter for all their fans. (Source is allkpop, unfortunately, lol)

This is Dara's letter:

"To my Blackjacks,

I never knew I would be writing such a letter. Firstly, I'm sorry to break your hearts, I'm sorry I couldn't keep us together, and I'm very sorry that I cause you pain. The past 7 years were really like a dream because of you guys, and it'll be remembered fondly with happiness. CL, Bom, Minzy, and I .. Us four will always be grateful and will forever treasure those times as good memories. The existence of Blackjacks always give us love, support, and protection. I wanted to give you guys good music in return, but I'm so upset and sorry that we can't... It hurts so much now, but let's cheer up. I hope you guys strengthen up and do well in all you do. My heart towards you guys will never change, and I'll work hard to always show a good side of myself. I can't express everything with just the words 'thank you,' but thank you so much for your excessive love.

It makes me so sad to see Dara so broken up about this I feel like the other members will kinda just deal with it but Dara really seems to be upset about this, she probably tried her hardest to keep the group together.

Also YG deleted the blog post announcing 2NE1's disbandment....I wonder why that is? No point in deleting the post 'cause he's getting so much backlash...2NE1 is still broken up, lol, people aren't gonna stop hating on him just 'cause he deleted the post announcing it.

I knew CL had plenty of celebrity friends but I didn't even know she knew Rihanna? And they must be close-ish if she just sent her a pair of super expensive shoes that she designed, lol I doubt she's giving em to everyone.

Honestly if she had even a small feature in a Rihanna song, or vice versa, I would be the happiest man alive

So now the rumor is that CL, Dara and Bom will all come back in a "new" 3-member group called XXI As cool as that would be, why would they all announce a disbandment and post emotional letters only for it to be all fake and they come back as a "new" group? I think people are a little crazy believing this rumor, but I guess we'll see what happens!

Apparently their debut date will be May 17, which is actually 2NE1's anniversary so that makes me think this is all a ridiculous rumor even more

not gonna believe the rumour. YG's official statement said Dara and CL renewed their contracts, it means they still belong to YG and how are they supposed to make a new independent album? doesn't make sense.

it is rumoured that YG scrapped the album, because he didn't like it. they recorded like more than 15 songs.

I think they disbanded because everybody had different ambitions and wanted to go each their own way. the problem is that it works with BIG BANG, but he couldn't do the same for girls? wouldn't believe. Bom's scandal placed a big burden on them. and with Minzy being young and wanting to be active, wanting to leave, I can't see how he could have kept them all together. probably by making a new album for them, but he was too busy with iKON. he probably wasn't sure about BLACKPINK, but they did pretty decent, not a boom like, like 2ne1, but they did okay and won some awards, so he decided to scrap the old burden of the group.
He's very greedy and sexist, so don't expect much respect or involvement from his side, tbh.

I never listened to Gotta be you much until I went to CL's concert and that was the first music video that played while we were waiting on her to come out, and then I loved it even more when she performed it! YG confirmed that 2NE1 is going to release their last song GOOD BYE (굿바이) on January 21st with music video filmed overseas. finally YG doing at least something for fans

i've been thinking about Bom a lot lately, i worry for her. she seems to be so fragile and i hope she will come back someday..

on the other hand - one thing that really bothers me about Bom in MAMA 15 is her nose. it looks horrible on that video and pictures taken in MAMA but a day after when she flew back to Korea her nose seems to be fine. and pictures she has been posting has beautiful nose. i can't stop thinking about it for some reason why is her nose so different on that one night if you watch fancams (there is 4k quality as well), her nose is not that sharp in them at all i think that's creepy

I hope this song ends up being the most popular 2NE1 song ever and YG realizes that he fucked up disbanding them, AND doing it in the way he did. I can't help but think that he's not doing this to "be nice" to fans though, he's probably just trying to cover his own ass after the crazy backlash he got from the disbandment announcement, I really don't give two shits about YG anymore. He's just money hungry and if he keeps treating his groups how he has been, there's not gonna be any YG in the "top 3 labels" pretty soon.

Also I've given up trying to figure out what's up with Bom's face 'cause it's always looking different to me

2NE1’s “GOOD BYE” was for CL, but YGE reunited the trio instead

If you were like me and thought the 2NE1 reunion was a surprise that came together out of nowhere, then you aren’t the only one, as it’s being reported by Star News that “GOOD BYE” was actually for CL‘s 5000th American debut, but YG Entertainment took that shit back and decided it’d be a nice (way to milk 2NE1 fans one last time) going away gift for 2NE1 fans and brought the other two back in the fold one last time.

According to an exclusive report by Star News on January 6, CL wrote “GOOD BYE,” and musicians J Gramm and Rock Monroe composed the song. Rock Monroe most recently worked as a composer for the song “Desperado” in Rihanna’s “Anti” album. The report states that “GOOD BYE” was originally a song for CL’s solo U.S. promotions, written by CL as an outlet for the leader’s feelings of regret about the end of 2NE1. However, YG Entertainment thought it would be a good song to release as 2NE1 for Blackjacks, and contacted Sandara Park and Park Bom to meet for one last time in the recording studio.

that made me a bit worried and little sad tbh... so their last song for us is some CL leftover i find CL's US debuts not so good so far so that makes me worry what kind of track it is

i've been watching A LOT of old 2NE1 performances and i have noticed 2 thing. i never liked Minzy, her dances were not sexy (i think that was what she wanted them to look ending up just throwing her hair and twearking cheaply) and she tried too hard to be sexy which didn't fit her imo. second thing that really bothers me is that CL scream offkey over other girls all the fucking time and steal their moment in spot light i get that she is the big boss but why don't you let other sing like they let you.

that being said, song being CL song kinda makes me think that it's yet another CL feat. background girls

I agree, I never really liked Minzy's dancing even from their debut. She was always promoted as the "best dancer" or whatever but there's so many girl groups with way better dancers, lol I think that's why she was trying so hard towards the end, CL was the leader and had a huge image as being a badass rapper, Bom was always the real talented vocals, and Dara is beautiful and can do no wrong, lol Minzy was always just kinda there, for me. Though her voice did sound very nice towards the end of 2NE1
