Because she broke her pattern. Last year should have been either another best of (she has more than enough after best fiction to release another one) or a collab album or something. The fact that there wasn't one last year, says to me that they intentionally are holding it back because it's so close to her 25th anniversary now and they want to save it for then.

Not complaining, just the number of releases last year seemed pretty small and spaced out; she's due for a slew of stuff to come out this year.

She released 4 singles last year(if you count Christmas Wish), which are a total of 7 new songs. The last time she did that was 2004.

I honestly think she wasted the first half of 2017 though. The long long never ending touring of live style 2016-2017 is unnecessary. (She's earning a lot I get it but)

I like them and I'm a fan of them and I like to buy her albums and goods and I dream to see her tours someday so I simply enjoy it, and I'm not thinking if they copy whatever the hell people told before.

Mint, Hero, and Dear Diary. I don't count Christmas Wish. I'm just hoping for a lot for her 25th anniversary; I've been starved for new Namie.

It's a little confusing, because if you go back from her Super Monkey's stuff, she is already in her 25th Anniversary, but AVEX doesn't seem to like to do it that way, so I think technically it would be next year. Maybe? lol

Well Super Monkeys debuted in 1992, and the 20th anniversary dome tour was in late 2012. The "official" debut date was September 16th, so I think if we see anything for 25th anniversary it'll be after September, and then potentially run through 2018 as her 25th year (since debut, not necessarily calendar year).

I think Keiko for A Song is Born is Ayu's only female collaboration, if I remember correctly (and that was more a construct of all the charity singles, not so much Ayu pushing for it, I'm sure -- hence the solo version on I Am...). But generally it seems like most female singers don't collaborate unless they're very different stylistically (like Namie working with AI or someone similar).

I could see them doing something Colours-ish together (the uptempos at least), since that's more consistent with Namie's style. I can't really see them on a ballad together. MAYBE something slightly urban tinged, like Dream On, but I don't really see Namie going back that way.
