I think her slow releases are part of her magic lol...

^ ...are part of her plan - to make fans hungry for new releases, so her sales explode LOL
Except Boku wa Kuma, i'll never understand that one. Anyway, Utada has always been an artist in my eyes who can release amazing music with powerful lyrics and at the same time some boring ****. |

Well, that's to be expected... she hasn't released anything in so long

^That's what I don't get either. BwK was a CHILDREN'S song. =/ I mean, I expected people to dislike it because they are teens and older but to say it's like Hikki's worst song/it sucked/Idgi just makes me wonder about that person.
Also, everything AyUta said is what I think and would say about Hikki. ![]() |

OH Now Boku wa Kuma makes sense xD; I didn't know it was made for children... I should have guessed since it kind of sounds like it lol

^ You didn't know... I thought it was kind obivious.
Someone pointed it out to me and it's kinda weird. Boku wa Kuma comes directly after Take 5, a song about death and leaving your body for another form. Hikki wants to Kuma-chang! ![]() |

![]() I didnt really understand why it was on the album either. To be honest...the album didn't even need another song. At one point I thought it was there simply because she "made" it...but I dont know.

At first I was against "Boku wa Kuma" being on the Album too. Then I thought about it. And who is to say if it wasn't that another new song would have taken it's place? If it wasn't on the Album then I wouldn't have a copy of the song at all. So I'm thankful she put it on the Album, b/c I never would have bought the Single. Ha.
One thing you can't say is that the song didn't/doesn't serve its purpose. When you think about it in that regard, it's a good song. Not one of my favorites, but a good song.

I actualy like that song, despite people having so much hate for it. The first time I listened to it, even though I knew it was "for children", what caught my attention was that, despite the composition being sorta simple, it has some traditional japanese music elements, like these sudden pauses between verses. A little change once in a while doesn't really hurt, plus the song isn't even that long.

I especially like how it's after "Teiku 5". Such a serious, heavy song and then all of a sudden... "*bum bum bum bum* Boku wa kuma, kuma, kumaaaaaaaaaa"

Left out a "Kuma" there. But some say that because "Teiku 5" symbolizes death, "Boku wa Kuma" symbolizes being reborn.
So you die at the end of "Teiku 5" and are reborn as "Boku wa Kuma" starts.

^ so you die, and you're reincarnated as a bear XD, but i thought boku wa kuma was a nice twist on HS, it's something you would not really expect, and it's fun to think of hikki being all cute

There are quite some people who've said that, and I think it's a good theory.
TAKE 5 symbolizes death, given the very sudden ending of the song. The song just stops without any given "warning" or sign. Just like in life: you never know when you're going to die. I could drop dead in 10 seconds because of heart failure, you just never know. Boku wa Kuma symbolizes childhood, so indeed rebirth, because it comes after death. I didn't think of all of this myself, credit to the fans who thought of this. Some people even include Nijiiro BUS to symbolize being a teenager, and Flavor of Life of being grown up (and dealing with love). I think it's a beautiful thought, dunno what to believe myself though. |

I can't recall if I've seen such hypothesis, but it sounds logical. Anywayz I like how Teiku 5 is followed by Boku wa kuma. (And it's weird, I never into Teiku 5.. I prefer Kuma more lol).
