I feel so disappointed. It seems that she doesn't care about her career in Japan anymore.

I thought that even though she hasn't been very active in the past few years, she'd at least do something special for the 15th anniversary. A brand new album, a big tour, the works.

She doesn't need the money and she has more control over her activities nowadays. But I thought she'd still have some love for the music and the fans.

why the hell does she need that money? she does not need the piney since 2005. She has CMS and Dramas in korea, she owns a part of SM and invested...and she is rich as fuck. No mainstream singer wo had success needs the money.

BoA is definitely one of the richest celebrities in South Korea. She's a multimillionaire.

She could stop working right now and live comfortably for the rest of her life.

It feels like her current state of mind is: "I've worked enough. Now I'll do whatever I want. And I'll spend time in Korea with my family."

She's a shareholder in SM Entertainment now. So she performs in SM Town to support her company. She needs to protect her investment/shares.

Once a year or so she releases a new song in Japan probably just to keep Avex happy. The bare minimum.

Now she can do acting or anything she likes. Even if it flops she's still rich.

Yes, I'm a bit bitter.

I love her Japanese songs (except the remakes of her K-songs).

I think/feel that they're way better than what she releases in Korea (with a few exceptions).

Not to mention, the concerts she does in Japan are so good.

Now... she hasn't released a real original CD since 2010's "Identity"...
And she hasn't had a Xmas Live since 2011.

What's worse is that she doesn't communicate with fans like, say, Ayumi does. We never know in advance what she's preparing/planning. And unlike Utada she doesn't announce that she's taking a break.

She's not an idol anymore, she doesn't feel the urge to release singles and/or albums yearly. Instead I guess she decided to really take control of her music career and is going to produce her stuff more and more from now on. This takes a lot more time than just singing to someone's lyrics and melody. I guess that's why she has been absent for so long in Japan too. But it's just a guess. Maybe after the KML flop (rumor has it she couldn't even release a planned repackage) she's maturing those techniques or just gave up interely on them and it's just waiting some good tunes to arrive at her desk lol she could communicate more with her fans indeed haha

I just feel that there are so many things she COULD do.

The basic would be to answer fan questions or blog about what she's doing musically.

For her "Who's Back" CD, rather than a simple compilation of singles, she could have remade those songs. Like releasing acapella versions, or rock versions of whatever.

If doing big concerts is too much of a hassle, then she could do Live Streams. We all know she can sing live beautifully. It's something she could do literally on her couch at home. Even Utada did it.

I know she's not an idol. She's crazy talented. That's why I feel extra frustrated. It's such a waste.
