I see this as more exposure to the western than anything else and regardless if the movie sucks or not but hey
the producer or whoever manages the music sees something in ayu
then why is ayu chosen to do the theme song other than the other musicians from the rest of US or Japan?

"HEAVEN" got No.1, it sold well, right? And it might be one of the most loved ayu ballad in recent years.
Am i the only on who liked Shinobi Heart Under Blade? I didn't even know Ayu did a song for it until the credits

It was a good movie. I didn't know it was Ayu that did the ending as well even after the credits...I wasn't paying attention and I wasn't into her at the time. When I listened to HEAVEN for the first time and read up about it, that's when I found out.

They mentioned it in the article. The director wanted a Japanese song for the movie, and was an Ayu fan.

anyone know who the director is? or any of the actors? to pull this off, they'll need some big names from the US.

It would be absolutely crazy if this song turned out to be extremely addicting...so addicting that regardless of the language barrier people will like it and it will stay in their head.

I'm pretty sure they gave her a gist of what the movie is like. Otherwise her song and the feeling it gives off wouldn't match the movie at all. From what I read the director begged her to do a song?

The director was a fan of her, and Ayu is a fan of dragonball. It worked out for her I guess

ayu has mentioned it several times herself. notably in TA. she has also talked about it on her show AYU READY?. here is a clip on youtube where she got upset bc she bought the DVDs for the series and they showed a clip of a part that she hadn't seen yet. lol LINK

it's not really that surprising. DB is very famous and popular in japan.

I just can't imagine Ayu seeing that "movie" and being like "OH THIS IS A GREAT MOVE FOR MY CAREER!"

It IS a great move for her career.

She's only going to get exposure internationally when she does it.

Let's just hope the song is good and that people remember it.
