Goto Maki I -Using Loneliness and SEXY- - Page 24

Now, I absolutely hate H!P, Morning Musume, and all that jazz, and wasn't going to give Goto Maki the light of day. In fact, I was going to ignore her and pretend she didn't exist when news about her switch to Avex came out. But I clicked on that Avex Channel thing on youtube and guess what video started to play? I actually liked it, the verses were super good, the chorus not so much, and the background music was fantastic, so I'm now looking forward to music that she puts. Especially if it's in the vein of the song I heard. ^^;;.

That's great that you like it. But I'm wondering what your basis for hating H!P is? They have many, many, many great songs. Plus Maki's later H!P stuff was very much in the Fly Away vein.

H!P is so misunderstood

to be fair though I'm not a fan at all of current H!P. I really love their older stuff (tanpopo, mini moni, pucchi, W, etc.) but their current line up isn't my cup of tea~...except for Koharu's solo stuff!

Ah, I forgot that LIKE A GAME is a b-side! I must change my answer to LIKE A GAME then, haha.

It is the Elder Club graduation concert, but the younger groups will be there too, including Ice Cream Musume.

I don't want them to take time out of the set list that could be all older songs!

I hate their image, their music also was pretty bad to me, and I didn't like her later "How to Use Sexy" and whatever stuff. It just never sat well with me. The lyrics for H!P songs are usually pretty shallow, and not something I would take note of.

OMG YOU ARE GOING TO THE ELDER CLUB GRAD? SAGNDSKLGNKAGAKL LUCKY!! I can't wait until the concert comes out for dvd, I get teary eyed just by watching one regular grad concert, idk how I will react seeing ALL OF THEM GRADUATE. Ahhh cheer extra loud for Kaorin, Tusji, Kei-chan, and Mari for me~

I don't look for deep lyrics in HP songs.

What's important for me, and Johnny's groups for that matter is that they are fun and have catchy melodies.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll probabally end up crying like a dork at the concert!

I wasn't planning on another japan trip right now but once I heard about the Elder Club graduation, I just had to be there somehow. And then I got extremely lucky with concert dates because Gackt is playing the next day and Namie the next week. So, three great concerts for me in one trip. yay!

My friend is a super huge, huge, huge H!P fan. He always tells me about them and tries to get me to listen to their songs. LoL. Then whenever they come here, he goes all out on the stalking. O_o. The only H!P groups I like(d) is probably Gyaruru because I'm a fan of Gyaru-sone, and maybe Hangry and Angry.

LOL, both aren't H!P groups!

Anyway, when it comes to H!P, you either hate them or love them. I used to hate them, then I got addicted to their music. Now, I'm getting less interested. If you don't like their kind of music style in the beginning, I doubt that you'll like them more. But Morning Musume is simply great. I love watching their shows because they are so hilarious. Honestly, I don't like their idol image either. But H!P has so many amazing vocalists. (minus the H!P kids, haha)

Nothing can make you smile or happy like an old school H!P song, either because you feel the song or because it's too silly to do anything but to smile.

I also like quite a number of H!P songs, after all, idol voices aside, the music is rathr creative and made by very talented musicians (tsunku's equipe). THere are many songs that don't grab me (most all of album tracks no matter which artist it is), but the A side singl releases from artists lik Aya Matsuura, miki fujimoto and morning musume are rather good.

As shallow as the lyrics are, they sometimes are so on point that it's hard not to enjoy them. Take Nee, it's the most accomplishd cute piece you've ever seen/heard and all factors of the production contributes to it. (PV, lyrics, instruments, voice)

I Don't think most of what is being released is on par with what thy had before though, it's like they realised they wont sell as much and that there's no matter in even trying. There are still some few and far between songs though, like C-ute's edo temari no uta and resonant blue.

As for maki, I thought most of the songs off her how to use sexy album were better, by any standard, then her ne track, no matter if they were released under the H!P umbrella.

My fav maki songs are almost all from that album:

GIVE ME LOVE
How to use loneliness
Yaruki ! It's easy (this is my guilty pleasure. LOL)
and her first single which I cannot remmber th name of right now.

I never really though she had the best solo tracks in H!P though. =/

and you know what, after the first chorus where only the music was playing, it kinda reminded me of The Nightmare Before Christmas songs. i luuuvvvv it! hehehe.
