Utada's dead to us now, and we must pass the time. We shall remember the good old days of Utada Online!

I made a playlist of my favorite songs from Utada... If I was in charge, this is what her "best of" would look like. xD Thought I'd share it cause it's got a nice flow. I based it off of setlists from her more recent concerts.

1. Goodbye Happiness
2. traveling
3. This Is Love
4. Deep River
5. Be My Last
6. 誰かの願いが叶うころ
7. FINAL DISTANCE
8. SAKURAドロップス
9. Passion
10. BLUE
11. Show Me Love (Not A Dream)
12. COLORS
13. Letters
14. Keep Tryin'
15. 光

Maybe now is the time to download her First Love and Distance albums. I've never bothered because I don't particularly like the singles from those albums, except for Wait & See and Addicted To You.

^Distance is a good album, but you're not missing anything with first love. The only things I like from that album are automatic, first love, and amai wana. I don't remember, or care to remember what all the other songs sound like.

^^OMG, you've never listened to First Love or Distance? :O Blasphemy! I love both of them... Definitely worth grabbing, if you ask me. Especially Distance. I think it's her most fluid album.

Distance has some nice tracks if you are into the old hikki...

I like about half of the album...other half...filler.

But Distance has a lot of her like...notable songs from those days. Wait and See, Addicted to you, Can you keep a secret, etc.

meh that's just me though. imo her pre-ultra blue albums are like half filler tracks.

You guys are crazy! xD Sure, First Love & Distance aren't the experimental Utada that most of us fell in love with, but she does R&B just as great as she does her crazy stuff! I love First Love, Distance and This Is The One just as much as DEEP RIVER, ULTRA BLUE, EXODUS, & HEART STATION!

First Love is actually way better than Distance. I wasn't into R&B when my brother got First Love, but it was a grower and it had the best flow in hikki's series. Of course, I remember someone (I forgot who he/she was hehe) saying that it had a good flow because everything was R&B and technically similar. But it has a naive/teenage feel of hikki that other albums lack of.

Distance.. mehh... when I got the album with A BEST, surprisingly I listened to A BEST more. The single songs were excellent, but the album songs just didn't wow me at all.

meh, her R&B is not really my kind of R&B lol

And for me, her voice doesn't really go well with it...

But I do love the song First Love...but more for like...nostalgia purposes...most of her pre-ultra blue stuff for me is all like, nostalgia.

I guess you can say that her R&B are not pure R&B. It's more like Jpop style R&B (not sure tho if that's the reason you dun really like her R&B ).

And the reason I love First Love is not about R&B or so. The flow and the feeling of naive/young make me loving the album very much. (I listened to this album when I was 18, so it kinda matched my mood back then lol).

Distance, on the other hand, was like something blocking the flow inside the pipe. The (album) songs are good, but not good enough. Also, she's like trying a piece of this style, then she tried another piece. She glued them together and the feeling just didn't match at all. She did the same thing in DEEP RIVER but it was much much better. (IMO DR is her best album ).

Edit: oh... my post is the 500th post... are we gonna start a new thread? lol...
