The Official glitter/fated Sales + Positions Thread

RAWR! I want the sales to go up! Oh well, this single is superb in my opinion, so the rankings don't matter to me anymore! (Ok, I call this self-denial!)

IMO, the sales of this single is due to a lack of heavier promotion that we've seen from Ayu in the past.. just look at the tiny magazine/TV listing for the single! Jeez. XD

I don't know what the heck keeps happening to her fans, but I'm sure as hell pissed off at them for ditching. >[

At least it will reach 160,000. Not bad but not the best either.

Obviously, all her fans recently went poor - spent too much on Kuu and Namie by accident. .__.

Well, IMO, Namie gained a lot of new fans.

QoHP and STYLE sold not even nearly as much as PLAY did, and she hadn't even reached no.1 on the other hand until PLAY.

My suspicion that many of Koda's fans currently, were probably fans of Ayu who then made a drastic musicstyle change and started purchasing a totally different artists' work instead of the previous favorites'.. D:

Not that kumi's single sales are A LOT higher now...
And PLAY got the heaviest promotion this year I suppose it just was all over Japan xD. namie were in 100000 magazines and TV performances.

I think that glitter/fated lacked some promotion as well.
With the promotion it got the sales would mean good sales.
ayu doesn't want to use first press/limited editions as well.

In terms of TV appearances, I don't think she did any less than the "norm". I think it was maybe the same number of appearances in comparison with each of her 2005 singles? The single was promoted OK, I mean with the poster at 109 and the promotion of Distance Love...

It's not like ayu will sell 500000 copies if she'd appear in TV shows every day and have like 100 magazine appearences. Such comments sound like poor excuses to me...
I thought about it before and came to the conclusion that the "glitter/fated" single is more for collectors and casual listeners. I'm not the type of fan, who would collect every single. (Maybe if I would find them at a Book Off in Japan for a low price.) The "glitter/fated" single doesn't offer anything (except for the package and instrumentals) for someone like me, who has the "Secret" album and will get ayus next album for sure.
But even B-sides aren't a guarantee for high sales, which is shown by Kodas "FREAKY".

I know that it's not about sales! And I will support ayu even if she'd hardly sell as long as her music and lyrics speak to me.

It's understandable that "glitter/fated" isn't doing very well. Let's see. Lack of promotion, definitely. She usually has tons of magazine covers. This time, not so much. It's probably due to the fact that both Kuu and Namie released something earlier than her in the same month and the magazine picked them instead of Ayu for their cover. Also, we can't say this single is that great either. "glitter" is basically "BLUE BIRD part 2". But I guess that's what happens when you have to write a song for a certain CM such as Zespri. The song has to reflect the product.

I don't think she wrote it for the CM I think she just wrote a general summer song (they could use any) because it's avex summer releases seasons.
She wrote fated about the movie and now it looks like the break up song as well lol.

I don't think she wrote the song EXCLUSIVELY for the CM persay....nor do I think magazine covers have a gigantic impact on sales. TV appearances, maybe, but magazines...not so much.
