I would expect lots of fans to not like this.. but.. god this is favourite cover (photo, maybe?) of her ever. And I thought Ayu's fairyland CDver stare was insanely hot...God.. I wonder what my guyfriends think of this =)

We can only blame him because he's pretty sucky at being a photographer. I would have to agree. He has done some good work, but his concepts seem to be getting simpler and simpler. I don't necessarily think his work means that he's a poor photographer, but rather a poor creative director. I think the fault here lies more with the setup and concept of the shoots, and the (over-)editing. It just seems Mr. Kazuyoshi is going overboard with the editing and...underboard?

I think trying out a new photographer would be good for a little while. I know many fans have been pleased with recents covers and magazine photoshoots, but I've been disliking them more and more. I wonder if all the extra makeup/photoshopping/"cutesy" expressions have been a kind of insecurity on Ayu's part? Just in that she is 30 years old, and is competing with artists that are much younger than her. Perhaps this is her attempt to appear younger, or to try to cover up age? I don't think she needs to, though - she looks gorgeous in reality!

I think it would be an okay-ish cover if the flowers weren't so ugly. If Ayu's hair wasn't so...flat and they actually picked a nice backdrop, it would be a good cover. Of all the places in Bali, they pick the UGLIEST backdrop.

To me, the first thing that comes to mind is "airhead" or "stupid." Then comes "easy", then finally "sl*t." Or like the poster said, a barbie stereotype.

I don't disagree with the poster though. If I had seen this as the first time I saw Ayu, Bimbo would probably be a word that came to my mind.

Someone mentioned photoshopping, too much makeup, etc. being impossible to avoid since Ayu's a celebrity, but what about YUI? Ayaka? They're both very popular, but don't have either of those things. Even Utada Hikaru was very low-key when it came to makeup, airbrushing and so on.

YUI and ayaka are totally different that's why... to a certain degree Ayu, as a popstar, sells an image, and that image has to be "perfect". And, "perfect" means photoshop. I don't think Ayu feels that way but I'm sure avex does. Please don't get angry people <3.
