They still do run strong, and by the numbers, they still are... (I thought Arashi prefer ANA, but I can't believe why JAL took Arashi - maybe because Arashi is really strong while JAL is in need of help, especially when they are in bankruptcy, and they're thinking that Arashi could save JAL...)

Man if this keeps up , I'm quite sure Boku no Miteiru Fukei might be able to shoot though 600K if not 700K in the 1st week if the sales are as consistent as ALL THE BEST !

^ Agreed XD , they are in the top 10 in yearly chart in one day only and i think they're able to be 1# in yearly chart within week of release "estimation"

oh okay! but to me, i don't feel like their first names sound like first names, you know? ohno, aiba, and nino sound more like first names rather than last names to me so it's confusing. i feel more comfortable calling them by their last names, then, lol. thank you for your reply!

and those first day sales are just what i wanted! love it! by looking at that chart you posted, karen, it's incredible how they can outsell their past album sales in just one day!

Loving this! This should shut all of those people who keep saying "but they're Johnny's and their albums never sell that well..." up XD.

People should learn that, honestly, Arashi has surpassed all the rest of Johnny's in terms of sales and popularity. There's no sense comparin' XD

Mario Kart wii seems so popular still as of today... I even tried it out last year and I even completed the game in full last year!

Oh wait, this is 2010 - when did Mario Kart Wii come out?

yeah man & by later today (it's already Thurs morning for me xD) , Boku no Miteiru Fukei will outsold the whole total amount of Dream"A"live , Time & let alone their debut album

Hard to believe that their debut album only cleared 320K+ & it's their best selling album before Boku no Miteiru Fukei comes in :O

nope

SMAP is still the best selling Johnny's of all time with 30-31 million worth of material sold by them since their debut in 1991

2nd's still KinKi Kids with 23-24 million

I don't know where ARASHI's at , but I'm assuming 3rd ?

just because in recent times ARASHI has been gaining in sales/popularity , doesn't mean you can say something as so

You have to take into account the way that sales have changed though. SMAP and Kinki Kids were their most popular at a time when more people bought CDs. Arashi has done things over the last few years that SMAP has never been able to achieve. I believe that Arashi are easily at least at the same level as SMAP now in terms of pop culture relevance.

oh if you're talking about pop culture relevance , then yeah both ARASHI is then on par with SMAP

I'm not familiar just how big SMAP was at their peak but I'm assuming what's happening now , is almost the same as what happened 10 years back if not even bigger/better

I know that SMAP released a single on the same day as Arashi's album released and it went #1, though the sales numbers are not as high as Arashi is doing today, whether it's single or album...

ARASHI is outselling every other japanese artist/band/male/female/solo/solo with band/whatever in Japan for 2 years already.
They have few of the best selling singles this year and are going to have the best selling album of the year, 2nd year in a row, that's just amazing. x_X

Did it happen with B'z or Mr.Children or SMAP or GLAY (or other acts if you want to mention bands/singers) in japan's history?

(Excluding ayu and hikki of course)
