I always check the jewel case when I buying stuff at a music store,if I found out broken teeth or crack jewel case, I will ask for another copy or a brand new jewel case. But however if I bought online, then cannot be exchanged if arrived broken. I hate it when it is damaged!!

I've never noticed if I care too much. All my old CDs from the 90s are in crap condition. It does annoy me that some of them don't close properly. As long as the CDs work, I don't care, and most of them are on my mp3 anyway.

I have Mariah Carey's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel cd and it's made of paper, my dog chewed it in half and the book got damaged because the slot to stick it in is too small. :-/

I had to buy another copy.

^I have that CD too! I love reading the mini magazine. My dog's not much into chewing, luckily.

i only hate those thicker double disc cases that most japan press used, coz if they got cracked, they are so hard to get a replacement

^Gaaawwwd I hate those so much. They're thick, clumsy-looking, and impossible to store. I don't get why they even exist when you can just use nicer and slicker looking digipaks or slip cases that can hold two separate cases for the packaging. >__<

That's why I haven't bought anything from them in awhile, they're getting lousy with the condition of the cds. From the same order, one cd case has a big nasty crack on it, another with a small crack and one has a piece chipped of so it won't close properly.
I was thinking about returning them, but I waited three weeks for them..

Anyway, yes, it does bother me when I get my cases scratched or cracked; it is so hard to avoid. Now I'm keeping them in the plastic they came in to avoid these problems.
