well look at the fact that in 2003 there were only 7x1,000,000+ albums; n in 2005 there were 10x1,000,000+ albums. also, if u add up the top 50 albums in 2003, u would get 29,732,880. last yr, u got 32,320,732

Actually from2003 onwards, 2 albums broke the 2 million mark Utada's Single Collection and ORANDE RANGE's musiQ =)

It seems that singles sold more in 2005 also, at least the top ones. Ayu sold more, but still did worse in the yearly chart.

Actually, it's likely to break one million.

The sales for 2wks of "(miss)understood is a bit more than the 2wk sales of Memorial Address which hit a million in its third week or so.

and this even beat Mika Nakashima's Best and Otsuka Ai's Love Cook
yay better than i expected .. i was expecting around 500 k
but afterall u have to count that some CD shops may be close and that some people will be out on holiday ~

MY STORY diden't last for many weeks in the charts either. Perhaps, like what happened to STEP you, word will spread on how good this album is and it will stay longer in the chart.

the soundscan 1 is for only 1 wk, while the oricon numbers are for 2 wks. n mika's BEST album actually beat (miss) understood in sales since 654,000 is again for a 2wk period instead of the usual 1.
654,000 is not wut i had hoped for, its a bit on the low side. MY STORY already sold 574,000 in the 1st wk. but nevertheless, it will definietly reach 1,000,000.

heres the 5wk sales i found for MY STORY in the forum
week 1: 574,321
week 2: 194,556
weeks 3+4: 190,471
week 5: 38,792

vs.

(miss) understood:
weeks 1+2: 654,000
