most meaningful? i doubt so.
but overall ayu's PV are very nice i think .. for me, every artist got their own story/personal, so can't really compare

I have to agree here. At least...early Kumi ones. Not really the ones from her Kingdom album. Kumi and Ayumi are the only pop artists that I feel compelled to buy the dvd version of their albums. And yes, I say artists period, not just Jpop. I usually don't get sucked into music videos, but I love Ayumi and Kumi Pv's. On Ayumi, I can't think of a PV I didn't like.

I think RAINBOW was one of her better ones that contained a lot of meaning and was almost like a mini story in itself. Def her most oustanding PV along with Voyage. I wish she would do more PVs like those two to be totally honest.

not really? iono. but ayu's pvs do make me think of them everytime i hear the song, and they really do fit the song

Ayu's PV are different from other J-pop artists for me. She has typical PVs of course but some of them are a far cry from other J-pop artists. It's hard to explain. It could just be the direction of the PV or how its presented. She has some very talented people working for her and of course she too is talented being putting the thoughts behind these videos.

I think some of her PVs are just amazing and belong to the top PVs there are and she only had a few really bad PVs(I think her only really bad PVs in the last 5 years were Startin', Born to Be and Beautiful Fighters). I can't compare to other japanese artists, because the only artists I really watch the PVs of are Ayu and HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR and Haikara PVs are boring like hell.
But compared to the PVs we get here in Europe and the PVs from american artists, Ayus are really outstanding, because most PVs I see if I watch MTV or something are just crap.

I like Ayu's PV's, they are entertaining to watch with friends, specially Because of You and Ladies Night XD

But I don't think she has like, ZOMG ZA BEST PV EVAR award. Every singer has there share of good PV's, and bad PV's. Right now, the best PV in my eyes, is FINAL DISTANCE omg <3

Her PV's outshine a lot of other J-Pop artists PV's that I've watched before. Of course she has a few that are standard, and some that are even boring, but overall her PV's are best.

but I can't really say that since I haven't really seen THAT many PVs from an array of other artists.

but a lot of things I've noticed she puts in production, like her concerts, are a lot better than a lot of others.

I like the main concept of it, but it just overdoes this "american" style, her outfits(accept that dress, I love the dress!) and the outfits of the dancers are pure trash and I don't like the overuse of color effects, it just looks TOO trashy too me, but then again...I loved Ladies Night PV, which was pure trash, too, but it was supposed to be trash.

^Yep. The production value of some of these PVs are very high and you can just tell at a glance.

I'm rather limited with the artists I can compare Ayu's PV's with, only Hikki, Kuu, Namie, and Mika technically. But it's kind of hard to compare them because their styles are so different(music, fashion, personality, ect). Visually, I think Hikki and Mika's PV's are overall more artistic than Ayu's. However I feel like sometimes Ayu has more interesting concepts than them, even if her videos aren't as pretty as theirs (IMO). Ayu's PV's seem the most similar to Kuu's aside from the musical style and use of sex appeal. I can't really compare Ayu to Namie, because they're the most different. Yes, they both dance(Namie more often than Ayu), but it seems like Ayu utilizes a less abstract underlying storyline than Namie. Well, sometimes... for example using 2 that just came to mind, Ayu's fairyland PV doesn't really seem all that different from say... Namie's "ALARM" PV. So yeah, in conclusion, I remain undecided!

not sure..j-pop artists pv bores me most of the time, only some are better.. But I do like Voyage PV esp though ~ I prefer Ayu lives more than her pvs

I haven't seen all her PVs, but from what I have seen, I have mixed views. Her last 4 PVs are really good.
But I hate the startin' PV. Its so crap, I especially hate the geek and chav at the start of the PV. They annoyed me straight away. And the PV for Daybreak is extremely boring.

Morning Musume's early PVs compared to Ayu's early PVs are a lot better. But Ayu's latest PVs compared with Morning Musume's latest PVs are a lot better.

The first watch is a warm-up and as I watch the PV 3-4-5 times I begin to interpret it in my own way, I love it! ^^ (yey FIRST post!!)

I love her PVs and compared to what I've seen so far imo hers are the best! As I watch a PV more than once I begin to notice many details I have missed preciously and I love it xD

Not only are her PV's outstanding complared to othere Japanese Artists. But Ayu's PV's beat out most of the PV's we get over here in the states.

Agree it's so true! Her PV's are the BEST. And I'm saying it without any Ayu obsession.
They are masterpieces almost always. And I'm okay with the fact that sometimes they are simple like for example CAROLS.
Kuu also has really GREAT PV's compare to the other artists and not only Japanese.
