Well it has been interesting if not thrilling to see yasu go up against a Johnny's but no offense yasu end of the day , I still like my Johnny's guys & that's a 7 years old itch which's talking in me x)

To be honest that feels a little as if Johnny's paid for NEWS' #1. yasu's sales are significantly better than NEWS' sales the last three years. From the start I thought that if NEWS aren't able to mobilise their fanbase to buy more copies than usual on White's first day Johnny's would do everything to secure a #1. And miraculously the second day sales are much higher and then again are worse than L's sales.
Btw, yesterday L sold 2579 copies, means that in a seven day period L sold more than White.

And why is oricon writing that NEWS got the #1 but not even putting the weekly sales out yet. -.-

Considering I've been in the Johnny's fandom for 7 years & counting , what you've said wouldn't surprise me

Almost everything Johnny seems to have a stake in it . Not just Oricon where the sales numbers might probably been rigged , even MUSIC STATION & the fact that a lot of unscrupulous marketing has been done over the years , nothing surprises me anymore

Then again end of the day , the music business is not very forgiving . The only good thing that comes outta this is that nowadays solo artistes cannot sell well anymore but yasu is an exception

If NEWS would have done some effort and mobilised their fans through 20k+ handshake events and therefore sold from the beginning and throughout the week more than yasu I wouldn't care and say "well done boys".
But this feels fishy.
NEWS sales aren't bad compared to general sales, but when it comes to boybands there are much higher sales out there. But Johnny's needs to promote every boyband as the "it-thing" and more than anything else teenage fangirls need the feeling that their favourite boyband is something special, when in reality their favourite boyband is as "individual" as every other boyband on this planet.
It's like avex was pushing release dates for Ayu forth and back, they needed to make the myth of the Empress of J-Pop, the Queen, the Japanese Madonna stay a little longer.
So if NEWS would lose their #1 strike, I bet a lot of fangirls wouldn't care anymore, because they would've lost the image of being "perfect" and "special".

Generally , albums that Johnny's groups released are not heavily promoted as compared to their singles

Most of the time , their albums don't sell very well & even when comes to doing marketing & promo for their material , it's done very differently from other artistes

Also sometimes they don't even require any to begin with & especially if fans have stick with them from the beginning of their formation

NEWS is unique in the sense that they originally started from 9 members in 2003 & now they only left with 4 members . And in their fanbase , a certain % still stuck with them when they 1st debuted until now

And contrary to what you might assume & think , not every Johnny's groups are pushed by Johnny's himself to ensure that every release his groups put out must & will get #1

The seniors Tackey & Tsubasa , V6 , TOKIO & even Matchy nowadays don't get #1 for all their releases but they still enjoy longevity after all these years

On the bright side of things , I'm sure L will get a Gold certification from RIAJ & L 1st week sales were only about 3,000 - 4,000 + copies lesser than what 2012 attained 3 years ago

Well, the sales are great. It just buggs me a little that ot feels like Johnny's cheated.
But it's really great that L sold just 5k less than 2012 three years ago. This drop isn't even noteworthy.

Haha visually , NEWS's White is their worst album covers to date but the album itself is quite good even though it's not my overall fave album from them :x

Anyway at least L will not be yasu's worst selling album as usually the more albums an artiste release , the more the sales number will decrease . 1st week sales for L were lower than 2012 but the drop is not significant since both 2012 & L were released 3 years apart

Since you bought/ordered all editions of yasu's singles & albums , don't you have to pay custom taxes as you live in Europe ?

I know you use CDJapan but do you select normal airmail or SAL since you said you will only get L within 2-3 weeks

Ah sorry sorry! But good that you say that, I didn't notice.

Yes, I guess I will have to pay taxes. It depends. Sometimes my CDs get stuck at the costum office and I have to pick them up there and to proof how much I paid for the CDs. Especially when the bill/voucher, which has to be outside the package got lost during transport. When the taxes are lower than 30€ it falls under the tax exempt amount and I don't have to pay anything. The funny thing is, that when the bill/voucher is correctly outside the package and they deliver it to my home, most of the time I have to pay around 10 or 20€ taxes. I don't really get it... xD
If I have enough money I choose EMS, but since I ordered all 3 editions I went with SAL this time. And this may take up to 8 weeks when I'm unlucky...
