Ayu's voice has changed ALOT - I've always liked her high pitched squeaky voice - I was kinda shocked while listening to Secret because to me all her singles that she released before Secret didn't really fit into the album and I had to listen to the album more to get adjusted to her voice - I liked her I am... era voice - that voice sums up Ayu for me

I loved the high, squeeky, cute voice.

HATE IT.
I couldn't finish watching her "Until That Day..." performance.

The vocals just sucked so bad I felt like puking.

Sorry Ayu.

How about you try singing that song after like, 30 minutes of singing with a few minutes of rest inbetween? :|

I honestly don't think many people would sound too good, even the good singers.

I've heard Ayu go into her head voice before, but she doesn't seem to do that much in her own songs..

I like Ayu's Rainbow era voice better, Secret era is a little too shouty and pre-Rainbow is too high-pitched (sometimes even painful).

actually they would.

someone who is properly trained would be able to stay on key and in pitch with ease for song sets of 30 minutes with a break between.

i spoke to a friend of mine who happens to be a vocal coach.

that being said maybe its time for ayu to attend vocal lessons again.

Maybe the "bad vocals" only mean "spectacular vocals" later on in 2007.

She's usually hit or miss with her vocals. I think it really has to do with how well she takes care of her voice in the days leading up to a live performance. They have vastly improved over her vocals during her debut but there's definitely room for her to improve still.

yeah theres alot of factors that can contribute to a performance... I think she needs to calm her schdule down a bit, she's definately not getting any younger

plus during performances her pitch tremendously depends on what she's either hearing from the band or her headset... it's very difficult

plus yeah someone should be able to sing a 30 minute without many breaks but add a long stressful day, a prior performance, dancing and acting into the performance and not many people can do it..

I prefer Ayu's mature voice... her young voice fit back in the late 90'2 early 00's era... Music is evolving and for the artists to keep going they have to be willing to evilve also.

I'm not agains ayu-rock like 'Because of You' or even "MY STORY" songs...

just after listening to '1LOVE' which I realli dislike
(don't ask why)
I'm so confident Ayumi is a fan of Gackt
sounds so stupid, but that's
not becuase of the music, no way, but becuase of her vocal here
listen closely-don't you hear? some ending parts for example
she's sining in a manner she hasn't ever used before
good or not, I don't like it
it sounds so unnatural and played, and also hursh
that's the way Ga-san sings

maybe she's having more problems with her ears again like in 2001?
or wha?
you're not crazy, i also noticed this, but let me arrange thought in my memory to tell u where exactly - pming u

(off topic: what the hell happened with the gackt voice, too ><)

i have gone to a KOKIA concert recently and the concert lasted for two hours and a half, with 20 minutes in between, and her voice did not fall a second.

personally, i prefer the I am era above all.

now i sees she's is imporving in SOME lives, but not TV, from DVD...

anyway, she will be selling cd's after all, no matter the level of her voice.

CDL 06-07 was very "free & easy" performed, IMO.

I love Ayu's voice no matter what! I liked her when I first heard "Depend On You" and then I bought LOVEppears - squeaky. Then I got into her remixes and then her Memorial Address and have been with her since then. I like her changing voice - I think it is very sexy when woman sing in deeper voices. But what the hell was wrong with AT2006? Someone tell me because I thought they were her best vocals and even though MY STORY is my favorite album and I was a bit dissapointed in (miss)understood, the concert blew me away and I actually like it better than AT05!
