The singer also apologized to Jolin -who took no part in the production of this MV- for the prejudice this controversy may have caused to her.

Jolin & her boyfriend Vivian Dawson broke up -amicably- last month...
They met on set of Love Player MV back in 2010 and started dating soon after.

She attended Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Paris on November 30th. She was the first Asian female artist ever to be invited at this event.

Some news:
► Last month during ASUS year-end banquet, a drunk employee came up on stage. Jolin said something like “If you want to rush the stage, remember to sing the song!”


► Album progress is very slow: Jolin hopes to be able to release the new album this year, she's still picking songs, the title song has not been chosen yet. She’s not limiting herself to a particular music style.
Same goes for the lyrics, when she’s working with lyricists, and they’re discussing the lyrics, usually she doesn’t give creative limitations. Jolin said that their lyrics are a way to see how she’s perceived by others, because they “know” her from magazines and newspapers like the general audience. She often says to them “No way! How can you still think that I’m ‘bubblegum’!”

► There will be at least a single release this year

► PLAY World Tour DVD is still in the works, it will be released when Jolin will be satisfied with it

► She watched Chinese movie 七月與安生 Soul Mate and liked the acting of the two lead actresses

So far from 'bubblegum', but I wouldn't take that as a bad thing. Jolin's MUSE was probably pretty bubblegum for this era, but it fucking blew away every other release in 2012. Hands down. Impressed the hell out of me so much that I went from hating her to being a huge fan.

Jolin revealed during this event that a single will be released (soon?), but she's still trying to find the right lyrics.
Her agent also said last Tuesday about the new album that at the moment they only had 1-2 good songs (without lyrics).

At this speed, we would have the new album in 2019 xD

It's true that we've been waiting for 2 years and a half () but she only started working on this new album approximately in late 2016...
1, 2 songs out of 10 in a few months is not so bad even if she doesn't have the lyrics (yet).

I think the true reason is not to being picky or taking time. In China even if you are a big star it doesn't mean they'll sponsor release of your new album every year. Her choice must be approved by her label because they may say "Sorry but we don't like it, it's not mainstream enough to sell well - pick up something else...." so it may take some time to satisfied both sides.

You're right, Jolin did mention this when she was working on PLAY: that even though she was producing her own music*, Warner could still refuse to release the album if they did not like it.

BUT Jolin is also known to be a perfectionist.
She's been really picky about her music since MUSE, which is when she started involving herself in her albums (music, visuals, MV...) 100%.
That's also when her albums started to get delayed several times (MUSE because she had trouble finding good demos for instance. Same for PLAY, and also the fact that she couldn't stop changing I'm Not Yours' melody).
Another example, she threw Miss Trouble MV in the trash because she thought it sucked and wouldn't release it.
PLAY DVD is getting delayed as well because Jolin is still not satisfied with it.
