Yes, and Ayu’s silver look and braids at A Museum looked very similar to Kylie’s tour look

Ayu has always been influenced by western trends / fashions and by extension popular singers from the US (even though Kylie isn’t but she was quite popular at that time).
Even if it seems like a ripoff I think it’s more an inspiration because it’s not used for the same purpose or scenery. Nothing is really original when it come to pop singers and I think in each country we can find singer who picked up or borrowed things from big US pop stars nothing wrong with that.

She has never really made it a secret when she was more public about stuff. Madonna was a huge influence for shows and she takes a lot of inspiration from like Katy Perry, Beyonce, etc. as well judging from her Facebook likes and stuff when we'd see them and shows she'd watch.

Just so you know, Kylie is huge in Japan. I Should Be So Lucky has been covered many times, and many of her songs are karaoke staples.
I mean, even if they flop elsewhere, artists like Avril Lavigne and Carly Rae Jepsen still sell big numbers over there.

Being a flop is based on numbers and sale or culture and industry impact? Because Kylie sure did had a huge impact in the industry worldwidely. So... of course Ayu knew her. Also Ayu have been surrounded by gay guys all her career... how can you expect her not to know Kylie? lol

Calling Kylie a flop is quite out of touch, knowing she has an almost 35 years career right now. I mean, by the time she had her 23rd anniversary she was still having hits with All The Lovers and Get Outta My Way... And as said previously, she's one of the most famous non-japanese singers in Japan with covers from Wink (their version of Turn It Into Love) to others as e-girls I Should Be So Lucky and so on.

Also, that was not the only time Ayu was inspired by Kylie...
