Seriously? That better not be the reason she turned down going to the Grammy's. Fans would have loved to see her. It's a fresh start (2010), her popularity is back up, and she hasn't appeared on TV in a while. Screw her BF's ego. Who cares if she makes more money than he does? Or if she's more popular than him--its Namie freakin Amuro! This may not bother some of you, but it irks me, especially if Atsushi is the cause. I mean, holding back and even missing the chance to meet an artist your a fan of because of a guy. It's not as if she's forcing herself on the public, maybe there's some other reason. I'm hoping there is.

Maybe it would have been better if Atsushi had denied their relationship. He seemed like a nice guy in the press conference, but if he's standing in the way of Namie's career.

I think that Namie is in full control of her career, she hasn't been on t.v. for a loong time now. I'm sure that avex and VF are telling her all the time to promote her stuff on t.v. and stuff.. but she doesn't

So I doubt that he's the reason why she didn't go this time around.. I'm sure that if Namie wanted to go she would. But sadly she doesn't LoL

awww! what a shame, namie has a valid point, but i do miss her having tv appearances especially when she started to establish her career she went on tv almost everyday according to wiki it's like shes saying she doesn't want to be famous anymore, of course she didn't state that or did it mean that but thats the impression i get from the article IMO...
Namie really deserves the attention for her talent.
BUt for her to do her duty as a mother is really special!

I kinda think it's odd that she rejected the offer...but she is a lot more private than other people...she could have left the munny part out of it though, and just said, "hey I'm spending time with my son, sorry I cant go." Or just like "I'm with my family."

I guess it would be like a hassle no? Having to fly to the US just to go and stuff...

She is more established than Gaga though...I don't really like the connotations that just because Gaga is American and the industry is bigger that it's somehow like it somehow undermines the Japanese artists and they should be so excited to meet them...I think Gaga would be excited to meet Namie more than Namie excited to meet Gaga lol

She probably does understand it was more about ratings for WOWOW though.
