kk what i want to say is that her her FANBASE IN JAPAN IS NOT GOING DOWN..and is getting higher instead...it's just that kuu is too popular in Japan that many people were like "oh..Kuu is already so popular..even if i don't buy her album,it will still be ok..at least i can download them or borrow from friends blah blah blah"...and i said that because i had too many japanese friends and most of them like kuu being sexy,and some like her styles and look while some love her songs~and one thing i had to state is that among the senior and junior high school student(age 13-18) in japan now,most of them are starting to like kuu~and for the younger generation,a lot of them prefer kuu than ayu(of course there are ayu fans too!)...and I'm sad to hear them saying this but i really had to admit that kuu is at her peak now...and most probably will last for another 2-3years or more~and i'm pretty sure that those younger generation that started liking kuu will most probably continue to be her fans for at least 2-3years or more~just like most of the ayu fans in japan now...most of them had been liking ayu since her debut or around their high school time~


and lastly ayu is still doing good in Japan~I'm sure!( >m<)

It's very possible, but it's not for certain. It really all depends on who is releasing an album in the next 7 months.

lol you might have a point there but I wasn't exactly talking about popularity... It was more about sales... In sales term it's a fact that kumi already had her peak (and I like her too and would want her to succeed more than she does but what can I do except for support her and buy her albums? which I do...), because since the BEST ~ft~ album her sales got only down for the albums and Black Cherry already has a hard time getting to million (I mean it still didn't get to million even if it eventually will, after 6/7 months already....) and sometimes she might have singles that sell a good amount but because the songs on singles might be hits and have a fair amount of copies sold but still... I can't see kumi's sales rise again without a drastic move (if there is such a possibility at all). She might be really popular but if most or a lot of her fanbase doesn't support her and just like her so what does it worth? She doesn't get paid and I don't think she will be happy with people only downloading her songs or just like her being sexy... She would like her fans to love her songs and singing and if they do so to support her, that's what I meant, I never said she is not really popular ^_^.
Her next single with the 4 songs might sell really well (because all of the marketing inside) but such a single can't measure the full point... Like if a single with just two songs of kumi now would sell 400,000 or 350,000 or more so her sales would go up, but if her 4 songs next single will sell like that I think it will be just decent sales more than going up in sales... (Looking at the state now), it's just an example though. 4 hot wave almost sold 400,000 copies so which means that to go up in sales (if the so called peak isn't over yet and as you say she just goes up) so it needs to sell more than what 4 hot wave sold if you get what I mean, but yeah even without kumi's sales as they used to be it doesn't mean kumi is not really popular ^_^.

I think that can apply to ayu as well...(people download her songs instead of buying albums) actually that can apply to anyone else.

As for kumi sales...I think her single sales especially her upcoming one will increase. (dunno if it will be as much as 4 hot wave) but it will definitely be more than the last 2 singles...if it doesn't than something is wrong and I'll be worried about ayu. As for kumi's album sales, I don't think her next studio album will be higher than black cherry (I'm saying this coz from comparing with ayu since her studio albums decreased in sales after A BEST) Well unless kumi's next studio album have a really good single to support it or something...like somekind of hugh tie-ins...(but then again...black cherry have quite some tie-ins...and knt and unu was quite popular I think..and the album had a extra drama) but we should wait and see...sometimes sales numbers is not everything.

Well...japanese fans are very different from what I can see...If they start to love some artistes...they would support them till the end..And that's why ayu's sales are pretty stable right now....she still got so many fans behind her back to support her...

I am a HUGE Ayu fan and also Koda fan. I think the announcement of Ayu's major may take a toll on her career so i think she knew that and postponed it for so long. I can tell in her interviews she is tired and stressed but she knows what needs to be done.. And she needs to do what she wants right now and not worry about Koda or anyone taking her spot light.
She doesn't care anymore she just wants to make music and enjoy life i mean who doesn't Kumi is actually giving ayu a sort of break it seems. So koda can carry Avex for a little bit they are making her a bigger star!

Exactly, but they sold less than her previous albums and only went down from album to album...

That's why it looks like kumi's state, BEST ~ft~ sold over 1,800,000, BEST ~SS~ sold around 1,700,000 and now Black Cherry got to 990,000 around and might sell a bit over the million, so the next album will most likely sell less, because BEST ~ss~ and Black Cherry sold less than BEST ~ss~ that sold less than BEST ~ft~ and might just sell over a million by a bit... So I'm not saying that she won't have anymore albums that sell like that for 100% But it certainly looks like it... anyway somehow i think that kuu sales will get higher and higher for her next album or at least the 2nd next..or it will drop and rise at the same time~that means one album beating another and the other losing it sale to the other..well let time tells~let's wait and see

^oh well, at the moment I can't see how it happens because meanwhile kumi's sales prove elseway... It didn't just happen to ayu it happens to everyone ^_^, ayu is just an example... but if suddenly that will be a miracle that will rise her sales up so it will be more than fine with me ^_^.

oh well...we will just have to wait and see..but I do think her next album will be hard to sell more than black cherry since I feel 05-06 is her peak...unless she include really good stuff in there. Ofcourse 07 she will still be up there.
