Big Pop releases; Who are you most looking forward to?

IT'S MULTIPLE CHOICE!!

hmm, I've noticed that 5 of the biggest pop stars on the planet will be releasing new albums near the end of the year for whom 3 of which will have come back albums... Michael, Kylie and Britney... with the other two Mariah and Madonna already releasing their come back albums EOM and COAD respectively and obviously hoping to continue their winning streak with their upcoming albums.

So... Who are you most looking forward to hearing new material from?

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is currently working on a new studio album. The new album has been in production since May of 2006. The album is being recorded in Dublin, Ireland and Las Vegas by Jackson and co-producers will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas, Rodney Jerkins, Teddy Riley, Ron "Neff-U" Feemster, and many others.

Michael Jackson and will.i.am have recorded at least eight new songs for the album. will.i.am says that this album will be different from anything released in music history and that it is best described as an Off the Wall for today's generation. Some of the work in progress includes up-tempo, dance-floor ready tunes and "great melodies".

It is rumored that Michael Jackson will be working with a variety of artists. Recently, the band OneRepublic (featured on Timbaland's "Apologize" from the Shock Value album) confirmed that they had been contacted by will.i.am to do a collaboration for the album.

Although there has been very little official information from Jackson's camp, Raymone K. Bain, spokeswoman for Jackson, has said that the album will be out late 2007.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie is currently working on her tenth studio album due at the end of 2007. She's working with DJ/producer Calvin Harris. She's also working with Groove Armada and frequent collaborators the Scissor Sisters on tracks for the album. According to Popjustice.com, several tracks have recently leaked, but none of the songs are reportedly being used. The working title for the upcoming album is called Kylie X. She has also promised that it will be the sexiest album of all time

Madonna

In late 2006, rumors began circulating that Madonna was set to begin production on a new album. Stuart Price, Madonna's producing partner, has confirmed that Madonna and he are at work on new material. On the London premiere for her film, Arthur and the Invisibles, Madonna confirmed that she hoped to start working on something new soon, and it could be "more dance".

In a February 2007 Sirius Satellite Radio interview to promote the Confessions Tour CD/DVD, Madonna announced that she will be working with Pharrell Williams on new material. Madonna will be also working with Timbaland, who discussed the collaboration in an interview with MTV News. Felix Da Housecat was mentioned to have worked with Madonna on his album. Timbaland confirmed working with Madonna on March 13, 2007 on Chicago radio station B96. He revealed that he had met with Madonna and had an idea as to what they would do together. He also stated that he is currently laying down beats to the music she has already written and that they will enter the studio in late March, or early April.

Producer Swizz Beatz recently announced his upcoming projects on a radio station. Amongst the collaborations revealed was Madonna.

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey's eleventh studio album will be released in 2007, according to Universal Music Group chief executive Doug Morris. Morris also has stated that Carey will release two new albums in 2007.

Carey reportedly said she had been writing new songs while traveling on her latest tour. It was reported that Carey is recording her new album and has booked a whole month in Anguilla's biggest villa and had a studio built in it.

Britney Spears

Britney Spears' fifth studio album is still being recorded and is expected to be released Autumn 2007, with the first single from the album released in September 2007.

An anonymous insider accused Jive records of not knowing how to market the album, claiming that Spears has "lost her core fan base of teen girls" because of widely reported incidents in her personal life, and asserting that Jive has not yet picked a producer for the album. Jive has countered by issuing a statement saying that it "is not worried about marketing the album", and that in fact it is "looking forward to the release" in the second half of 2007, stating that it does not comment on its artists' personal lives.

MTV has confirmed that rapper T-Pain has been asked to produce a few songs for the new album and that Sean Garrett has finished three tracks. Jonathan Rotem, a well-known R&B producer, is working in the studio with Spears. His record label's official site mentioned that he is working on a few songs for Spears' new album.

If she's still gonna work with Stuart Price then dance is a big probability. I just hope it's not quite as generic as Confessions.

And Britney. I wish her the best. I hope she comes back better than ever. Although I'm worried that the album will be 'personal to me y'all, about the kids and my ex wifebeater wearing, dirty as hell ex'.
Hopefully she keeps it pop and somewhat meaningless.
