I had to rewatch this twice his voice is so beautiful. I love hearing someone else sing ayu's songs, especially with voices drastically different from hers or with use of more traditional singing techniques.

In Japanese karaoke scoring systems, you have to hit the right notes at the right time as shown on the bars at the bottom. Depending on the company that made the system, also they track more than just that, tracking vibrato and overall vocal technique.

For the competition, he did okayish. People who compete at that level tend to get as close to 100 as they can. In some places, if you score above 90, they give you free food!

The girl who was #1 got like 99.2 or something.

The karaoke thing also factors in "performance"--so like if you sang a song technically really great, but added no...personality? your score will change.

I recall a friend just hitting notes well and getting pretty good points. But that may depend on the server from DAM to JOYSOUND... and whatever that other one is.
