ayu's PV definitely has a meaning to it every single one
even ladies night/ (don't) leave me alone and this one is definitely about the future and this mirricole world

wow, this is the best interpretation i've ever read, i really used to thought mirrorcle world was really random, but this just explains everything i guess
i wish ayu would explain what each pvs are about, oo it'll be awesome if there are other interpretation of other pvs does ayu think of all these ideas? or directors?..either this is the most brilliant interpretation or thinking TOO much?

This is probably the best interpretation I've read for ANY PV, hands down.
What I really like about the title, Mirrorcle World, is that not only is this technological advancement a miracle and a miracle world into itself, it literally does mirror our world -- it's an imitation image without the depth or the actual "soul." Ayu was damned clever when she called it Mirrorcle World. ETA: Wow, there was a lot of wank and hatin' in this thread... It's fine if people want to see it as something shallow or just "fun," but I think it's pretty insulting to say that someone is spending way too much time on thinking of the PV this way or that they're somehow wrong for even wanting to. Personally I think it's a shame that someone would want to limit themselves to an interpretation that's just "her running around Paris, random, nothing else at all." Are you thinking this way just so you can complain about how the PV sucks because it isn't up to your individual standard? That's the impression I get. Don't get me wrong, it really is fine if you don't agree and if you aren't convinced, but it makes me wonder why some people would so adamantly reject any type of explanation that isn't from the artist his or herself. Rarely do artists ever come out and tell people what their songs mean possibly because they realize that it'll take so much away if they give a concrete, 100% answer. People can choose to see what they want to see and think what they want to think about a video or a song, and consequentially, they can choose that they don't see something, even though others do. That's the beauty of interpretations and to suggest that anything but a definite answer from the creator is somehow insignificant is kind of ridiculous. You show me an artist or a musician that wants everyone who hears their music or sees their art to be viewed one way and one way only (i.e., their own) and I'll show you an amateur who just doesn't get it.

Great interpritation!!! Though now that I think, I feel it's more... general, singularity is quite an advanced topic to be tackled by an extended song and a pv by just one person.
I think the thought might have been more general. Multiple ayumi's are conflicting ideas, each evaluting herself in a mirror. They look at what these ideas and choices make them, and how they shape there future. The modem is the switch between normal life and the self-analyzing mirror sate. Once they agree, ayumi as a whole stands up to the problem that caused her to think. And eventualy goes back to the normal world were she can make these choices and 'cry' as a person with depth, instead of having to be presented perfectly as a reflection consisting of only imagery. Its amazing, I knew there had to be something about this PV! Though it always seemed random to me, there was SOMETHING special about it I couldn't explain and for which I didn't find an answer....yet, but the analyzis made me understand it

I simply think that the PV was a resume from some of her old PVs, like :
Together when.. : the hat, and the longcoat, I think Dearest : the part where she got chased alterna : simply when she sings in the close up part, with feathers on her hair GAME/JEWEL : her red oversized gown is similar to the ones on those PVs About You : the part when she sings while "playing" with her gown. and as a bonus and commemoration when she got chosen as the Wacoal spokeperson : the part when she sings in lingerie

Theres one question I'm still asking myself:
In the end, when the car drives away, does it mean that she accepts this "new world" or is she going back to the "normal" world |

Some of the analysis of the actual lyrics are a bit different than the actual japanese feelings of the lyrics.
Like, when they said "shrugging off," the translation is almost completely wrong there.. because the actual verb means exactly the opposite about it... it means "did you get serious about it" or "did you turn on them," something like that. Also in the second chorus, the translations should be like in this feeling.. "Are you giving up your body to us? Do you want to stop abruptly?" They ask. "Are you pretending not to see it, or can you just not see it?" They ask. I think "they" in that context are those weird people following her~ I really liked the interpretations.. but they work only with english translation.. Because the way that the choruses are structure, She isn't questioning herself, Actually she is very determined about what she decided to do, what she knows. She tells us what they ask her, and that kind of things, But she answers with two full answers: "Didn't you tell me just to face forward?" and "This is not the time to play the victim." It's quite difficult to analyze... and a bit easy to capture a different meaning through translations, right? T_T I have to say you did a great job with those informations available~! Anyways, I actually think that when the Mirror breaks in the song.. She came back to the real world.. And that's why when she is in the phone booth, she can be saved by that other persons and see all those cars and people in the end. But in the beginning all the streets were empty and such... Because she was not going to run away into a world other people created for her, and that she knew if she couldnt slow down anything, bad things would happen. But yeah.. I have to say it was a good job~ |

Ok since I saw the license plate number, it says 13 CRY 91.
1991 - 1978 is 13. So maybe when she was 13 she was lonely and cried a lot? s I'm just thinking what I'm thinking. XP
