Ayu song titles in Japanese?

hey guys! I've been wondering for quite a while how Japanese people (like in 2chan or something) call ayu's songs?

I think they do a lot of short names instead of the full names. I think I once read they call Evolution "エボ" instead of the full "エボルーション".

Just post all Japanese song titles you know ^__^ romaji is also OK.

(second question: where can I find Ayu thread on 2chan? that website is one big chaos to me, who can only read kana's and hardly kanji. They don't seem to have an Ongaku (音楽) or Music (ミュージック) section..)

There was a similar thread a while ago, and I think this is what you were looking for:

What Keiichi is asking is: "What do Japanese Ayu-fans call her songs?" Not "How would Ayu's song titles be translated into Japanese?"

For example, Memorial address is commonly referred to as メモアド memoado (from the Japanese transliteration of the title, メモリアル・アドレス memoriaru adoresu).

In addition to that, I have seen the following.

1. flower garden
フラガ furaga (from フラワー・ガーデン furawaa gaaden)

2. (miss)understood
ミスアン misuan (from ミス・アンダーストゥッド misu andaasutuddo)

3. MY STORY
マイスト maisuto (from マイ・ストーリー mai sutoorii)

4. Humming 7/4
ハミング hamingu (from ハミング四分七 hamingu yon-bun-nana)

5. Mirrorcle World
ミラワ mirawa (from ミラクル・ワールド mirakuru waarudo)

6. Marionette
マリオ mario (from マリオネット marionetto)

7. Boys & Girls
ボイアン boian (from ボーイズ・アンド・ガールズ booizu ando gaaruzu)

8. INSPIRE
インスパ insupa (from インスパイヤー insupaiya)

9. Greatful days
グレフル gurefuru (from グレートフル・デイズ gureetofuru deizu)

10. BLUE BIRD
ブルバ buruba (from ブルーバード buruubaado)

11. talkin' 2 myself
トーキン tookin (from トーキン・ツー・マイセルフ tookin tsuu maiserufu)

http://tv11.2ch.net/ami

She has her own section with Ami Suzuki. Though it's advised that you don't go there since a lot of porn popups are abound. There are also Ayu threads in the GaySaloon or w/e that end up linking to threads that she has in her own section. Easiest thing is to type in her latest tour / release and you WILL find her channel on 2ch.

I imagine that many of the Japanese abbrevations are done by people posting via mobile phone or something.. lol.

It's so irritating when I'm reading the setlists and the setlist is like "tokin, SURIevoSURI, etc etc" it's just more work for me.

Anyway: one more:
ドンリブ -> donlibu -> (don't) Leave me alone

2ch also known as 2channel is an extremely popular forum-like place where all users are anonymous and they have millions of hits a day, and probably billions of hits in a few months..

Just to simplify it: It's a huge forum that has about every topic imaginable in the world talked about. It's sorta scary.

Well, it's not meant for foreigners to go on, but we go on anyway because they have a lot of information.

HOWEVER. Places like mixi are MUCH better for J-pop artist information.

To add: It's what 4chan and the like are based off of. That should clear things up right there =/

Yes, exactly. Densha Otoko began on 2ch.

Fly high is usually written out in full.. But if you want "katakana / hiragana":
ふらいはい / フライハイ.

I can't give the "vernacular" name for these (the shortened ones that people actually type, but according to promo CDs these are "official" katakana for these songs...

a song is born: ア・ソング・イズ・ボーン
CAROLS: キャロルス
Dearest: ディアレスト
SURREAL: サーリアル
Free & Easy: フリー・アンド・イージー
M: エム
poker face: ポーカー・フェイス
RAINBOW: レインボー
Voyage: ヴォヤージュ (It seems we're supposed to pronounce it like the french way rather than the english way o_O never noticed that before)

And it's worth noting that ayu's "H" is pronounced エイチ rather than エッチ

wow thanks for all the info everyone! ^__^

I love the shortened song titles! xD thanks for listing them!

and thx for the 2ch links

@Delirium_zero: ヴォヤージュ - Voyage. I think the English and French ways of pronouncing voyage are so much alike that they would be the same in Katakana xD I guess she does mean the English way though.

No, cuz in book titles & such that were originally in english & then translated to japanese, "Voyage" in english is usually katakana-fied as "ヴォヤージ", without the small "yu" at the end, but the french phrase "bon voyage" is katakana-fied with the little "yu" character. Seems to me we're supposed to hear "Voyage" as in "bon voyage". And it is a pretty different pronunciation... in english it's more "VOY-idge" but in french it's more "vwa-YAZH". if that french pronunciation explanation made any sense XD it looks kinda weird.

Well, just watch a Music Station performance where she performs Voyage and see what they say. lol.

A few more made with no real knowledge of how the Japanese use them, but are assumed to be used:
プラス -> purasu -> +
マイアル -> maiaru -> MY ALL
キスキル -> kisukiru -> kiss o' kill
モノクロ -> monokuro -> monochrome
キヤチャ -> kyacha -> Catcher in the Light
レイデース -> reideesu -> Ladies Night
ハピエンド -> hapiendo -> HAPPY ENDING

I'm not sure if these are really abbreviations.. they just sound so familiar.
