TVXQ, one of the leading dance and vocal groups in K-pop scene since debuting in 2004, was formerly composed of five members Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, Max Changmin and U-Know Yunho.

However, after disputing with agency SM over the unfairness of their 13-year exclusive contract, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu halted their activities as TVXQ and instead formed trio JYJ.

TVXQ is now a duo group led by two remaining members Changmin and Yunho who are set to come back with new releases simultaneously in Korea and Japan in 2011.

Okay so I've been slow on news from them since I'm not a huge fan. So what's been happening lately to them? I heard something happened to JYP and now only two members are left and are releasing a single?

XDD they are under sm dbsk had problems with their contracts, that they didnt get paid well and stuff so yoochun, jae and junsu sued SM. now they are having a hiatus and the trio formed a unit called JYJ and homin is going to release a new single in 3 weeks under dbsk

Wow JYP lol my bad. Had a huge brain fart there. Yeah I knew about the drama and whatnot. Even listened to a few of the English tracks from JYJ (didn't like them that much though...) but thanks for informing me.

EDIT: Oh so DBSK is just those two members now? XD I get it.

TVXQ’s participation track for SBS’s “Athena: Goddess of War” OST will finally be released on December 20th.

As previously reported, their song will be the background music for thrilling action scenes. The duo’s passionate voices (combined with the deep string performance and strong bass) will surely make the viewers’ hearts race as they anxiously follow the tense scenes.

Starting from 10AM KST, the song can be found on various music sites like Melon, Dosirak, Bugs and Cyworld; the music video, which features footage from the drama, will be available during that as well.

The duo’s official comeback album is scheduled for release January 5th, 2011.

'We're so excited and touched, although it's actually somewhat laughable that we got so emotional over being able to go on Korean TV as Korean singers. All we wanted was to be able to see our fans...'

The above were the words of JYJ members Jaejoong (24), Yoochun (24) and Junsu (23) from an interview on the 16th in Yeouido.

Since filing a lawsuit against their management company SM Entertainment, the three released a worldwide album entitled 'The Beginning' in October and began their activities as a 3-member unit through concerts and fanmeetings. However, not only has the KFCPAI sent out official letters of request to broadcasting stations requesting the prevention of JYJ promotions, SM has also expressed concern over their activities.

Due to issues with attaining work visas in the USA, free showcases had to be held in the US this November.

'When we found out that our US visa applications had been denied, we knew we were faced with a crisis and a challenge, but since we'd already made promises to our fans, there was no way we could cancel the shows. In the end we decided change them into free shows. Our crew over at the US were incredibly touched by our sincerity and determination, so it all turned out well.'

When asked whether or not the lyrics in 'Pierrot' ('In front of me, my bro. in front of money, I’m nothing') were directed towards SM, JYJ replied 'It is a song we wrote whilst thinking back to the days of our debut. When were still rookies, acts of social pressure such as compulsory education and abuse of rights was still prevalent. In terms of freedom being restricted, different people have different interpretations.'

With regard to the other members releasing a new album and promoting as Dong Bang Shin Ki this coming January, JYJ said 'Obviously we want them to be successful in their activities, but the name 'Dong Bang Shin Ki' only has meaning when all 5 of us are present. On those grounds, it is somewhat regretful. Our group is named 'JYJ' and we do not have a leader; we feel that our separation is merely the result of our current situation. One day, we will be together again.'

Having given honest, genuine answers when discussing issues revolving SM and broadcast companies, the three reverted to their usual playful selves when asked everyday life. When the topic of their hobbies and ways of spending free time came up, Jaejoong replied 'I hung 50 baubles to decorate my Christmas tree,' and Yoochun revealed 'recently (we've) been making fun of Junsu a lot but he doesn't really get mad'

When the three 24 year olds were asked about their plans for Christmas, Jaejoong said 'If I had a girlfriend, I'd like to go on a date with her holding hands, but I guess right now the only thing I can do is go out for soju with the members and our manager?' Yoochun and Junsu chimed in 'Soju is best with sausage. Let's go and eat sausage.'

Fansign Event on 19-12-2010:
- Yoochun said they're filming something ("undercover shoot" LOL)
- Jaejoong said the concert DVD is coming soon
- Fans asked Jaejoong why was he wearing sunglasses? Jae replied saying his left eye was not feeling well, he wasn't doing it on purpose.
- Jaejoong also secretly took the fans letter and hid it under his shirt without letting the bodyguard know.
- When asked what are the members have been up to recently, Jaejoong replied he's choosing a new drama, Yoochun said he went skiing and when Jaejoong saw the pictures of him skiing, Jaejoong was depressed (cause he was not invited)
- The fans were allowed to shake hands with JYJ. Fan:" I'm your fan" .. JaeJoong replied " i'm your fan too !!"
- Junsu sang 'Be My Girl' and Jaejoong and Yoochun danced to it with the fans. Starts around 10:50:

With regards to the recent news about JYJ's supposed interviews that said that they are "considering a reconciliation with SME" as well as what they supposedly said about Yunho & Changmin using the name "Dong Bang Shin Ki" to do their activities - Do note that all those articles have been deleted from the original sites as well as other news sites that replicated the info, so please take with a pinch of salt.

There are a couple of reasons why we're not posting translations of these articles, the primary reason being that the original Korean sources have been deleted.

Tohosomnia is choosing to be cautious as there was a previous incident of a JYJ interview being made up before. If the news resurface in the next couple of days & are verified, then we will naturally translate them, as per normal. Thanks.
