Ayu no Song Titles
Noowaituusei? Guureitafurudeisu??? Or Ebaarushion?!! Confused? Well so am I, but how the heck do Japanese people mention Ayu's songs? Do they try to say it in English or romanize the song titles? @_@ Wouldn't that be very inconvenient if they did? Like, every song would have meaningless gibberish for a title. Heh...*still wonders*

Japanese people receive English education for at least three years. Therefore, the meaning and pronunciation of a general word are known to some extent. However, our pronunciation is less than native it. We are going to use the rightest possible English to Those who speak English. In everyday life, we talk by the pronunciation of the middle of a Roman alphabet and English.

Yeah, they say the titles in English on all of the music shows and even in daily conversation. ^^ I always had fun talking about songs with English titles because I got to say the katakana version.
Sometimes it's really inconvenient when the song has a long title. Or else, the artist has a long title. Take TMRevolution... In 99, he changed his name. So it was like this: Za endo obu geneshisu TMR-eboryuushon taabo taipu D The end of genesis TMR-evolution Turbo Type D ^^ Anyway, it's really fun, I think. Za sainzu obu raabu (THE SIGNS OF LOVE by Dreams Come True), Boyaaji (Voyage), Furajiiru (Fragile by ELT), etc.

Ayu songs aren't supposed to be typed in katakana, unless they're titles are originally in katakana/hiragana. They're always in the roman alphabet, always. It'd be incorrect to make them into katakana.

From what I've seen, the titles are simply said as close as that person is capable to say. I've heard ayu clearly say "evolution" in concert, yet pronounce "UNITE!" as "yu-knee-tay" so well, I think the closest answer is that a native Japanese will do as close as they can.

the thing is they can't really pronounce in english like u and me
itz not that they absolutely try to do it on purpose...but they just can't pronounce proper english!!!!! and the closest they can pronounce is in the katakan engrish form...which sounds super weird and un-understandable (?) to us all just like...juurai furesuto...july 1st

don't they just change the english into katakana, and pronounce in Japanese...(therefore the boyaji)
but I heard it's really hard to learn both pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ and English at the same time cuz the pronunciation is just totally different... no doubt Japanese ppl may have a hard time on pronouncing English words...even if they tired... |
