After School, The Story

Debuting initially as a 5-member group (Kahi, Jung-Ah, Soyoung, Jooyeon, Bekah)
with their debut single "AH" in January 2009, they were labeled as the Korean Pussycat Dolls
for the matured and sexy concept they had taken on.
In April 2009, After School released a digital single titled "DIVA" and introduced a new member "U-ie" into the group,
as part of After School’s admission and graduation concept. Later in October 2009,
member "Yoo So Young" announced her withdrawal from the group citing health and studies reasons.
At the end of the same month, After School admitted two new members "Raina" & "Nana" into the group
November 25th, 2009 they made a comeback with 2nd Single Album "Because of You"
March 25th, 2010 After School released 3rd Single Album "BANG!" together with the addition of new member "Lizzy"
making After School a 8-member group now.
A new member was added in late 2010, Lee Young.

After School will be making their first release in Japan. This will be a collaboration between them and Japanese legend Namie Amuro titled "Make It Happen".
A teaser for the PV was released on February 18, 2011. The PV features new member Lee Young, but see's rapper Bekah missing, due to her vacation occuring when the PV was recorded.

Their first full album was released on 27th april, titled "Virgin"

Bekah has decided to graduate from the group to fulfill her dream, being a designer.

I hope its FIERCE!!!

and hopefully they tabulate the results FAST!
arnt they coming back next week?!?!

maybe all of them prepared for 2 songs so it doesnt matter...maybe it's just shooting the MV (if any)

Not really liking the whole subunit concepts.
They starting to be Morning Musume.
I thought they were the "Pussycat Dolls" of Japan.

If they could have stayed just how they started would have been awesome.
I'm really going to miss Bekah.
I'm just excited for new music so *sigh*

I always thought they were going to be the Pussycat Dolls of Korea.

I never seen anywhere that said that they were like Morning Musume.
When they started mentioning "graduation" I got that feeling of Musume.

I'm kinda disappointed that they cancelled Raina solo album. She has a very nice voice and she should have a solo album someday.

I want to know the line-up!!! omg...this is why After School is so interesting to me. Having subunits not only showcase each member more, but also help to showcase different music styles and..there are just infinite possiblities of how they can be. Of course, I want to see them as a team but maybe they feel that its too fast right after their VOL1 to make a big comeback. Esp with plans of debuting in Japan. Plus, they've set the bar so high with Tap dancing, I wonder what they are going to do next.

Somehow I feel like AS BLUE and AS RED are just subunits for more entertainment..unlike Orange Caramel..which seems to be this actual subgroup Pledis has churned out. Just a feeling..if they will go on, then we'll see

i have a strange desire for BLUE to do a Diva~ptII~ hehehe..and of course, RED to have a AH~ptII~
