idgaf if people don't like the idea of Pink Spider sounding like dubstep -- TO ME THAT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

Kuu @ TOKYO FM 「COUNTDOWN jp」

Spoiler:

*she has bangs now*

Yesterday kuu gave an interview at tokyo.fm and she talked about Pink Spider MV, I'll give you a summary about what I understood because no one has translated the info in chinese yet (I'm so sorry for my bad english)

- it seems the video will have CG? she said for giving it a ~fantasy~ touch to the story and so go according to the manga
- they totally changed the instrumental of the song (which was originally rock) to add koda kumi's charm and juiciness, and it ended up on a dubstep-styled song
- she seems to admire the manga's creator, she said that the adaptation in general did show a never-seen-before side of her
- the original story is about prostitutes, so it seems that there will be a variety of sexy and imposing costumes throughout the whole video
- kuu feels that of over 100 videos she made throughout her career, she never made one so luxurious (this part is not clear to me, if it's a video with CG, how is it luxurious? xP)
- the result is an overflowing, powerful music video wich shows women's sexiness and tenacity, thanks to the work of the staff and cast
- according to other news, there will be bed scenes? tongue kisses? kuu knocking men, etc

I think U★G and JuNGLE participated in the video too? not really sure, it seems kinot mentioned about having them in ANOTHER video?

^Kuu is THE QUEEN!

I think Kuu has gotten Triple Crowns twice or something before as well, maybe in 2006 at least since she had so many #1s released that year. :3

I feel like a bad Ayu fan for hoping Kuu would pass Ayu's 48 consecutive Top 10 hits record... ;__; I hate to be a fan of the "rivals". XD

It has nothing to do with being a bad fan! You just want the same success and prestige for one artist you love, as the other artist you love achieved. Kuu, Ayu and Namie are the triple powerhouses of solo female pop artists in Japan right now (IMO) and they all deserve as much awards and recognition as they can get.

I just finished watching Live Tour 2006-2007 Second Session... and I swear I never even realized their were quite a few Kuu fans taking off their shirts to wave them around and they're only wearing a bra underneath. But then I saw Kuu strip down to her panties on stage, so I was less surprised.

Ku's dubstep is different though. She uses dubstep elements and not full on hectic sound. On Driving Hit's 4 she had a lot of that as well as on Beach Mix. I love that type of style when it's some sort of dubstep/trance sounding hybrid.

So, Kuu is pretty much releasing singles, then a cover album with PVs we are assuming, so possibly a +DVD release, and then a studio album? That seems odd

Also, Kuu and Kenji have nearly been married for a year already? My, how time flies!

Oh, Live Tour 2006-2007, that is so awesome. I saw the Love goes like... performance from it and that was the one that made me want to watch the whole concert. I really enjoyed everything about it though that outfit for D.D.D. was horrible. XD The most epic part of the concert was the Love goes like... performance and also that stripping ending. x3 Kuu is so bold, I love that♥

Yep to everything till the cover album. I dont think we'll get a studio album till November/December, there are just two a-side tracks so far and she's working on the cover album... Probably we'll get a summer maxi single, then a one or two a-sided single around October and finally the 11th album around Christmas But that's my guess only.

Maybe Kuu will surprise us with a summer studio album around July/August? She hasn't released studio albums in summer yet so it would be awesome too♥

But usually her pre-album singles have poor sales and don't get all the attention [she performs the songs themselves a lot, but the promotion focus is towards the album], and her summer singles are avex biggest bet on the year when it comes to Kuu singles... That's why I don't see her releasing an album in the middle of year. Releasing an album between December and early January is much better cause there are all those special lives for xmas and the end of the year, the xmas boost on sales as well...

That's why I think it is unlikely to happen, but then she could surprise.

Maybe she could pair them like BEST ~third universe~ and UNIVERSE, but I don't see her releasing a hybrid album...

Well, sometimes she add some cover songs in her albuns (Yume with you, Ima sugu hoshii, Venus, etc...) but I don't see something like "half brand new songs/cover album".

----
So, I dreamed with the JAPONESQUE Tour last night and it was so awesome LOL, best tour ever...
The setlist was something like this:

-Intro-
Follow me (full INTRODUCTION to JAPONESQUE song, it was sooooo freaking good with taiko and everything, and the chorus was all in engrish... It started with her shadow behind a big shoji door, and she was with a full red kimono)
So Nice
KO-SO-KO-SO (with the dancers tied on a bed)
Pink Spider (the dubstep break was amazing lol)
Say Her Name
Slow

-interlude-
Ai wo Tomenaide
Brave
Ii hi tabidachi (from her new cover album) ~ Alone
--
Ai no Uta ~ Koishikutte
darling
All for you

-interlude-
V.I.P. feat. T PAIN
ESCALATE
BUT ~ UNIVERSE ~ POP DIVA ~ BE MY BABY (remix medley)
Lay Down
Love me back (this time she isn't the police, she's being arrested XD)
No Mans Land (performance on jail, similar to 1 LOVE from Ayu)

-interlude-
Watchu waitin' on?
Hey Baby!
Everyday
IN THE AIR
Yasashii Akuma (from her new cover album)
Love Technique

-encore-
I woke up when we're all singing Moon Crying (blah) to ber during that time between the last act and the encore. =(((

The interludes were great, with more acting and less jokes, they were pretty similar to Kingdom's interludes.

She seemed so happy during the whole concert, it was really amazing even it was just a dream XD

Yeah, I only remember some parts of the show, like it was a digest or something lol, and I don't remember all the outfits and everything, but the setlist was pretty much like this.

That's an epic show!dream :O

I was thinking that a cover/studio album hybrid would be interesting as a future project of hers. I like the idea of her continuing cover albums because I simply can't get enough of them. She brings some classic songs to my attention and modifies them to be entirely hers, which is what MAKES a good cover, IMO. I've been jamming out to her Eternity ~Love & Songs~ album and DVD audio rip for a while now simply can't get enough of it.

I can't see us getting a studio album for a while yet, however she did surprise the hell out of me during 2010, what with UNIVERSE, her third best album, Driving Hits 2, AND Eternity... Granted Eternity came out six months after the rest of that, but still! That's tons of stuff for one year.

ETA: omg you dreamt she covered Ii hi tabidachi. LOL DIDN'T ALAN COVER THAT SONG TOO? SEE, I AM PSYCHIC /old thread reference
