Jpopsuki freeleech?

Guys, since jpopsuki got hacked or whatever last year it seems that no one is taking care of it anymore. I mean, WHEN are they going to have freeleech period again? Does someone know where it's possible to contact anyone who is in charge of the site? There should have been two freeleech periods already, and it's been more than a year!
Do you have any idea on what is happening?

If you mean the DDoS attack thing, I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I think it's just that MellowB, the SysOp (and founder), hasn't visited the site for 10 months and he's usually the one that enables it.

If he doesn't come back during the holiday season, we probably won't get a freeleech period this Christmas either. :|

WTF is with these owners, founders, admins etc. just leaving their sites to rot? I seriously don't get it. Sure, real life gets in the way and managing a big community is work, but not even signing on just to look at it in almost a year? WTF?????????????????????????

At least, if you know that you are not going to be able to manage the site anymore because of personal issues just GIVE the admin/mod position to someone else. There are people, affectionate users of these sites who have to suffer this kind of idgaf attitude. Bah

I never liked anyone who runs that site, even most of the mods, really. Most of them seem far too stuck up, but I turn a blind eye to it so I can get the stuff I need (if there was a good alternative to Jpopsuki I would have left a long time ago).

Oh, and this thing was posted 4 months ago: "Can some of you guys please stop being idiots with the recommendations. Thank you."

Seriously? To write something like this the only thing you have to be *is* an idiot. To me it feels like the site is being run by power hungry kids and nothing more. If you want to say that recommendations posted are unreasonable for whatever reason, there are far more mature ways of saying it. Sorry if I offended anyone, not my intention.

^That was posted because someone recommended Namie's entire discography in the span of a few hours.

And the mods aren't that bad, really. It's just that there's absolutely no leadership at the site. MellowB is the SysOp and founder so the other mods want to defer to him when it comes to big decisions but he's hardly ever there, or he hardly ever gives clear directions, so they're left to muddle through it all by themselves.

Add to that, I think there's only 2 or 3 mods (semi-)regularly tending to the site so you might understand why they may come across off as surly in the forums.

^I didn't really know that. But still, I don't think that's really an excuse. I mean, just seeing that written without knowing what was going on makes you feel like you're in a totally wrong place. But I guess they are not all that bad if that's what they have to deal with. In any case, I've just gotten a bad impression of them from seeing everything I saw, doesn't mean they really are as awful as I think they are.

First of all, I don't understand why you are so hostile. Really? In what way does this affect you so strongly to tell someone to "get over" a valid point they made in a forum. If someone called you an idiot ANYWHERE in my book that is a problem. Human beings should treat each other decently. You really don't think so? I am not even really complaining. Whatever, they can treat people however they want. But it doesn't make it right, and it makes the site look bad, too.

Second of all, the "free shit" I'm getting isn't and never was theirs. I know this isn't what you referred to, but I also contributed to the site, as well as other people have. Anyone with some money and some motivation could make a tracker like Jpopsuki, it's not like you need to upload stuff yourself to make this work. I'm not diminishing the work they did to make it work, but being an ass, no matter what you offer or what you achieved, can never really be excused.

Getting that out of the way, my biggest problem with Jpopsuki is that they act like they are gods and like we own everything to them while the owner even isn't there and obviously doesn't care. Like the stuff uploaded there really IS theirs and like we are just hopeless lowlifes trying to get their stuff.

All I'm trying to say is that I don't understand why people would ever want to treat each other this way, anywhere, any time. But that's life, I guess.

Sorry for the rant.

So if someone verbally (or in any other way?) abuses you, other people are supposed to tell you "It's just life. Get over it." Right?

But it WAS rude lol. How do you justify calling your users "idiots" for breaking rules as NOT being rude? As far as I know, there isn't even a written rule that you can't recommend an artist's entire discography. Sure, it's stupid to do so, but not against the rules. And even if it was a rule, does that person deserve being publicly, albeit anonymously, called out by the moderators as being an idiot? No, because that's rude and tactless and tacky. And they don't get a free pass to be rude just because they're providing a service for free.

I don't believe it was rude at all. If you are being stupid then you deserve to be called out on it. Like I said before... was there another way around it?
Yes of course, but even if they had said.
: It seems some people are not reading the rules and they need to re read them before posting request:
Someone would say they were being rude. My point is about rephrasing is that no matter what people say SOMEONE will be offended.

And sorry about the rules comment. For some reason I read recommend as request, which is against the rules. As for recommending all of it, Im sure it can be pretty annoying to the person who has to sift through that so yes, its okay to call someone out on it. and the direct quote was:
"Can some of you guys please stop being idiots with the recommendations. Thank you."
This person didnt call anyone out but a group. It would have been tactless to call the direct user out but to say a general: "Could the idiots stop." Is not rude.

And I believe you do get a free pass to be rude if you are providing something. Its their place. They should be able to do what they want.
If it were a store and the owner was rude. that's the owners call. You don't have to shop there. You don't have to go there at all. Pick another place.

But to come to a another place complain about it is pretty tactless and a waste of time as well.

I'm not being hostile. I'm expressing a point. And if you don't like the way i'm expressing my point then get over it. Thats not being hostile. Thats you being a baby about life.

This is a completely pointless comment. You are getting free shit so stop bitching.

I have no idea where you are getting that.... because they dont act like that. They have rules, I'm pretty sure people try and cut them all the time and they have to deal with those idiots all the time so they are snippy, but if you had to deal with it I bet you would be pretty snippy too.

Yes. I would tell you and anyone else who was verbal abused by someone on the net or some random person to get over it. Life isn't fair and with over 7 billion people on this planet everyone will not get along. Someone will say something that rubs you the wrong way. Why stress over it? They don't know you. You don't know them. Why stress over something you cant control? Get over it.

I don't think anyone would have objected to that phrasing lol. That's much more professional. I can't imagine any universe in which anyone would object to that.

Well, ignoring the fact that there really ISN'T another place like jpopsuki, let me rephrase.

If you are rude, even if you are providing a service for free, you should still be called out on being rude. Obviously, none of us lowly jpopsuki users can do anything to STOP it, but that doesn't mean it's cool to abuse your mod status to call other people mean names. We don't have to sweep it under the rug just because we aren't paying. Rude is rude, rude can be called out regardless of who you are and what site you run.

And the shop analogy doesn't match up. Business owners don't get free passes for being rude either. If you are rude to customers, customers won't come back, and then your business will suffer. Business owners can't just do what they want just because they own the place -- not if they don't want to see their business go down the toilet.

Well 1. There are other places like jpop, you just have to find them.
2. I didn't say you don't have to call then out. I said get over it.
Which leads to 3. The shop analogy is good because there is a price for their "rudeness" the stupid people. Just because there is no money being interchanged you still have to deal with people. Jpopsuki is like a store just no money being changed hands.

@TeamAyu2004

Okay, so let's turn this on you. Why are you bothered by my "complaining" if that's just life and there are going to be people like that, too? Aren't you a baby too for commenting on this (as it obviously bothered you)?

I won't argue with you because you are insulting me for absolutely no reason. Have a nice day.

You just proved my point. By acting like a child
I'm not even bothered by you. You commented on something and I commented back. That's what forums are for. You'll have to point out where I insulted you, because I didn't.
