Twitter Campaign: Let's make ayu trance 5 happen!

So we've been chatting a bit about it in the anything goes thread, and I am not sure how many people read through it. Basically, I've decided to start tweeting ayu and max about making ayu trance 6. Or another ayu-mi-x, I suppose, but I think if we all concentrate on one product, our voices will be louder.

Here are links to my two tweets, please like and retweet them, or also just copy and paste them and tweet them yourself. Forgive the typo in the first tweet, I typed ayu trance 6 instead of 5, but I think they will still know what I mean

I've tagged both ayu and max matsuura in my tweets, as well as hashtagged #ayutrance5. Good luck to us all! We made it happen before, let's do it again!

Liked and retweeted!

Definitely up for some more Ayu Trance! (Or a Chill Out album/mini would be good too!)

Eh... Nah lol. I can't say I'd benefit from this campaign... I haven't enjoyed the sound of trance for awhile now, it's just not powerful enough these days for me.

I still haven't really absorbed ayu trance 4 yet, even, and it's been 4 1/2 years o_____o That's my own fault though, life has been crazy, lol.

I Retweeted and favorited both updates. I hope this becomes true because I think it's time to release another ayu trance. Those are so awesome. ♥___♥

You could still support us trance fans!

sn: I know I'm not your favorite because I was an asshole before, but I have grown and my mentality has changed quite a bit since then, and I've been meaning to apologize for my insensitivity. Totally random but it comes to mind once in a while when I see your posts.

Awww. Well, thank you. I appreciate it.

I would retweet this, but I'd rather support a different style of remix album lol. Like I'd rather hear an acoustic pop/rock reversioning album, or a big beat/industrial remix album, or a studio-versions-of-live-versions album, or a trap/trip-hop remix album, or even like an 8-bit/16-bit game music style remix album... For me to tweet for a trance album I'd just insist she work with producers whose stuff sounds like anthem trance from 2000-2003! lol

But if we all tweeted to ayu what kind of remix album we wanted to hear, it'd just be a flood of noise, so. I'mma let you guys do your thing and I'll cheer you on! But I'mma sit this one out, I think.

Yeah, I'd prefer tweeting her about ayu-mi-x to get all types of remix albums, because I only like her Acoustic Orchestra remixes.

But I'll still participate, because even though I won't benefit from it, I certainly won't lose anything if I do tweet her

Though I'm worried that spamming her on twitter won't be as effective anymore, since she left twitter and it's apparently run by her staff now...

I don't have twitter, so I'll have to sit this one out as well. Hoping for the best!

Trance still has power, it just gets more and more difficult to find. You have to first muddle through the "EDM"/House tracks masquerading as trance to get to the core of the scene at the moment, and that can be difficult. But there are a lot of tracks I believe that still evoke power. Standerwick does great stuff, as well as Fady & Mina and Simon O'Shine. Simon O'Shine in particular has produced some truly MOVING and POWERFUL tracks within the past few years!

I was thinking you were judging trance off of ayuTrance4, and that would explain your train of thought, but I see you have yet to listen to that. Lol. I suppose recent trance tracks to require a lot of patience, because they like to take the listener on a detour to a very gentle place, and showcase fragility through the melody. But the power after the breakdown is always enhanced because of that.

I find the power and emotion in this track below, to be seriously stellar, and the anticipation the buildup creates for the release is nothing short of sublime. Especially so after the vocalist draws you in with her tragic story of betrayal and abandonment. I love the analogy she makes between deceit and "stealing the sun," and the sorrow behind the ballad-like breakdown pushes that conveyance over the edge. When the energetic synths follow that at 3:13, and she repeats the refrain, it's as if her heart has opened up, and both her depression and her anger come together and manifest themselves as this epic lead, driving the song home. It really is a trip, and I find myself shaking my head numerous times when getting lost in it, as I often do out of disbelief that a force of minds could come together and collectively make so many decisions, given differing conditions, to bestow upon the world a truly magical piece of work. It has, no doubt, very quickly became one of my favorite trance tracks ever.

I cannot fathom the beauty of this track, and the way it escalates with such intensity after the breakdown. From 3:35-4:30 it begins teasing the listener with elements from the release, prolonging desire, dropping hints, manifesting, until the listener is utterly starving for it to all come together. That's always been one of my favorite things about trance, and this piece is no different - how if one has the patience to listen from start to finish, it's like broken pieces of a very complex puzzle are being shown to you, separately, over a period of time, causing you to make predictions as to what it will sound like when the drop gifts it to you in full form.

Another beauty by Simon. Has some kind of deep heartache to the melody.

I love how this one turns unexpectedly sinister after the breakdown. It's like an explosion at 1:52. Given the subject matter on this one, I see it as the inability to let go, when the heart becomes almost blackened by it's desire for continued possession.

I would totally welcome Ayu's works re-imagined with this kind of power.

I HAVE listened to ayu-mi-x 4, I just haven't really absorbed it fully. I don't remember the tracks on it yet. I've given it maybe two full listens, and I've heard many of the tracks multiple times when they came up randomly in the car or while I was working.

My opinion of trance in general is based more on what Prime has mentioned or played for me, and the few episodes of A State of Trance I've tuned in for in recent years. Nothing grabs me like it used to.

That said, I will DEFINITELY give your links a listen when I get the chance, probably in a few hours or tomorrow morning - the way you are describing them, they sound like EXACTLY what I've been wanting to hear but haven't been hearing anywhere! Why's this stuff gotta be so hidden among the EDM stuff? I mean I like EDM fine, but it's like a fungus growing on every other genre I like o___o! Even ayu-ro mix 4 sounded more like a bunch of EDM with some somewhat-SEB-inspired keyboard solos. x_x

well, maybe not a trance album but more specifically a remix compilation. thought that koda s recent remix Albums have been incredible.(I personally like the dubstep mixes) wish we could have something similar from ayu. (I don't think her last compilations have been amazing, so much of it sounds outdated I'm. but I can cherry pick a few tracks that are amazing)

this thread needs more attention!
I should put a link in my signature.

^Sure, please do! At the very least, maybe it will convey that we are still interested in remixes at all!

Personally, I love that she has so many remixes. Some aren't that great, but others are magnificent! I don't listen to the majority of the acoustic/classical versions very often, but trance and some ayu-mi-x tracks are always in heavy rotation with me. I love every track on every ayu trance album, but with ayu-mi-x, it's very hit or miss. I LOVE TO BE (Jonathan Peters Club Mix), most of ayu-mi-x 2 ver UK+EU, the extended SURREAL and Dearest remixes on ayu-mi-x 3 and 4, still alone, etc. But most of the tracks from ayu-mi-x 5 and 6 are really just not that great for me.

Indeed, Ayu-mi-x 5 and 6 wasn't all too amazing, (worst of all: Mad professor remixes. WTF??) but at this point I am just happy to get ~aaanythiing~, really T___T So when she actually releases remixes I am happy if I like 2-3 tracks at least, Liking the majority is a bonus!!

I also never liked her acoustic/classical remixes.
(they only put her vocals over the music, when she should be resinging them for the new arrangement. the result is always a bit clunky)
If anything those are the mixes that are the least neglected!

I need something to shake my ass to! lawl XD

I'll take any remix album at this point. Maybe like ayu-mi-x 8 series?

This this this this this!

First and foremost, I absolutely need Love Songs in a studio recording that reflects the live arrangement and additions. The album version, which I did love, sounds so empty to me now and the start/end sound SO abrupt.

Also, some of her really old sounds sound quite nice with her current voice (some, like evolution, never need to be re-recorded though). It would be nice to hear some updated arrangements (if they are improved) and maybe some deeper vocals.

maybe we should change the name of this thread; people seem to want a remix album, but nothing that is like the trance series (i read many times now in the other thread that they consider that sound outdated)

in the end, i want an electronic remix album that sounds fresh and fierce. i don't care what they would call it. it is interesting that i see many people crying for a release like that, but this thread is pretty much dead hardly anybody is tweeting about this either. sadface
