Furthermore, people normally state their sources when announcing news if any kind and some people, me included, like reading the original articles. |

FINALLY! And the fact that they are counting iTunes, mu-mo, mora and recochoku is surprising.
It will be weird count the days of the release separate from the actual release week, as for example there is JUJU which the album was released 10.26 and the first 5 days are missing. But anyways, it's a start.

Finally!! I can't wait for Ayu's next release to see if it does any better on the charts now that online sales are being counted as well!
*fingers crossed*

Now there won't be so much complaining.
![]() Hopefully this will be more helpful in seeing just how successful a release really is. |

I don't think this is more representative than the physical chart, look at those numbers none of them is higher than 10k

![]() The physical chart is always what matters most to me. But I was thinking Japan would be more interested in digital downloads of music. |

That's pretty sad that the numbers are so low, is no one buying music anymore :/

You guys have to keep in mind that the sales are for albums, so they must buy the whole thing. Nowadays people usually just get one song or another, that's way it's quite hard for an album track to get certificated on riaj.

Yeah. I think it would be a better idea for Oricon to just fold these sales into the Oricon Album chart. Is there a significant difference in cost to download an album vs buying it in store in Japan?
