she makes alot...i can tell you that...i'm not sure if they release how much money she makes, but they release the top 10 tax payers (or top 10 tax paying celebs was it?) in the end of the year~

According to Forbes she made about US$ 9 million last year.

As for how much she's worth I have no idea. I wonder how much of her earnings she invests and how much she spends on Louis Vuitton and Cartier

$9 million? That isn't alot.

I thought she was worth atleast 1 billion yen.

US dollar is higher than the yen, so that'd be.....1,002,780,000.00 JPY. Which is almost exactly 1 billion yen in a year.

wow that's a lot of yen...but in US dollars it doesn't seem that much, since other stars like J.Lo earn more than Ayu in one year. BTW Ayu is one of the top 10 tax payers in Japan next to her is Utada Hikaru.

think the billion yen is her total sales, but obviously most of the money goes to her company, not her.

Ehh no...those are what Ayumi herself makes. If Avex only makes $9 million a year it wouldn't be like what it is today. o.O;;

According to Forbes again, Ayu's sales totaled US$190 million in 2001.

My understanding is that Avex pays her a 2% royalty. If that's correct, she made $3.8 million from CD/DVD sales and $5.2 million from endorsements/merchandise/etc.
