She was half-Japanese/half-Italian.

I don't think she had to be more glamorous. Namie and her mother were different, each one with their own style... It's good. She seemed a tender mom.

And definitely, she had got strong western features...

Hm is it true she got murdered by her brother? I heard it somewhere in the newspaper along time ago.....They look alike.

I feel bad for Namie.

It feels sad to look at her pic and know she was a victim of a criminal act. She does have a lot of features that resemble namie.

I look at her and think about Namie's comment, "I thought about quitting, but I remembered how proud my mom always was when she saw me on TV, so I knew I had to keep doing it for her." or something really similar. She reminds me of my mom, so this REALLY hits home.

And yes, she definitely has the western features. At first glance I would think she was caucasian.

I agree with you. Though I don't think she looks too Caucasian in my opinion. I see Namie in her definetly, and so I think her mother is beautiful in her own way. She seems like the lovable mom like Namie describes her.

Wow, i didn't know this about Namie's mom.

It's crazy how artists have a messed up life. I mean, Ayu never saw her father. Namie's mom got murdered?

I don't know how someone's own flesh and blood could ever kill their birth mother. I just .. do they even have a concience?!?!? (sp?)

Ya know, .. I don't think body shape has anything to do with Namie being thin.. she just grew up in Japan with the Japanese diet, no? Well, not everyone has a fast metabolism their whole life..

in fact, when amuro first started her career...she denied that she has non-japanese blood

but after she got really successful and popular..there's more and more rumour on tabloids that she's not 100% asian

and later she admitted she's mixed

It is really disheartning. imagine how Namie still feels to this day. but her music is still kick ass!!! and she never stopped she has endured the greatest pain of all but she came back and is continuing to climb the charts!!! so i am proud to call myself a fan of hers!!!

I see it in the eyes, nose, lips, skin tone, facial structure.

It is sad but I like what Namie's tattoo says about her mother. I can't remember it clearly but its something like "my mother's love will live forever in me" or something like that >.<

Its kinda hard to believe people don't see that Namie isn't full Japanese o.O

It's actually quite obvious, but not a lot of people can notice it.
One of my friends from Japan thought she was full blooded Japanese until I told her. I don't think she believes me

But what an interesting combination.. Italian and Japanese. Namie's mother pulls a lot of Italian looks.
