Why japanese albums are release before in hong kong?

I was talking to this friend and i explain to him that we always get ayu's new releases and some other artists mp3s before the official date in japan... but he's stuburn and doesn't belive me XD hahahaha

please can some explain to him why is this?

i think I've read from somewhere that the CD's are shipped to HK and Japanese stores around the same times , but japanese stores wait until the official release date to actually start selling whereas HK shops usually don't really need to.

another explanation I've heard is that as soon as cd's arrive to HK they're leaked to the bootleg-makers , and those bootlegs are out before the official release date.
