shippo

In Ayumi's "evolution" PV, she's wearing a tail called a "shippo". Does anyone know where to buy a shippo?

No idea. I'd love to have one myself. But they do sell them somewhere, cause I saw one girl with a tail like that.

Woah that's been out of style for so long. I really don't know. Maybe some pelt or hunting/outdoor shops?

'shippo' is actually just the Japanese word for tail. They still sell them in Japan - not everywhere but I think you can still find them.

I have a question too, I've been wondering about this since I first saw Ayumi's "shippo". Are they made of real fur? I hope they're not, I'm very much against fur..

Yeah I was thinking about that too... I don't like the idea of wearing an animal...

so am I, but I would be surprised ayu wear true fur. I can tell most of hers on pics is false (I was taught some tip to recognize it) and she already mentions her interest for environment

I don't know if they're fake fur or not , but if I had to guess I'd say they're real fur. Ayu seems to wear a lot of luxury brand designers clothes and if the look with the 'shippo' came from them it's most likely real fur then ...

Hard to say whether or not the shippo itself is real fur but since a lot of people can come by them, it may be faux. However, Ayumi has probably worn real fur before, Vuitton ONLY uses real fur (which is terrible because recently, they've churned out tons of fur merchandising).

Anyways, the shippo is still around. Namie Amuro wore one recently but it's smaller and is patterned like a racoon tail.

I've no idea. Back in the days, they were sold by street vendors.
I've lost mine.

All I know, that they were popular during "M-A BEST" period, and Ayu always weared that, it was fashinoble. Some kind of trade mark "bought" Ayu to advertise their products, so, she weared them a lot. You were able to buy them in "DOME 2001" with all this staff like posters and others. And near them there was "A" simbol on a chain.

The shippo for sale at Dome Tour were actually just little phone straps that looked like the tail, not the real thing.

And I dunno where to get one either. I knew someone who made one out of a teddy bear arm once though, and it actually worked pretty well.
