Making new topics for artists news

Ok there seems to be an explosion of "Official threads" popping out....however I would just like to point out for the importance of making singular threads for any news regarding any asia artist. Not all people are willing or will pay attention to be checking every 1000 page "official thread" to look for some news, even if they're actually fans of that artist. If you indeed love the artist you're going to post the info about, making a new thread like "Sowelu's new single to be released at ??.??.??" will actually promote and catch moreppl's attention than dropping that info on page 32 of "Sowelu's official thread" [Just an hypothetical example, since there's no official Sowelu thread so far]. What I'm trying to do to encourage ppl to post things like news that are very important in single threads, instead of using that as a way to give volume to the "official threads".
I, myself, won't bother on checking every single "official thread" every day to try to draw out some important news over a bunch of irrelevant things. I was actually hardly aware Koda kumi was going to release a single called Flower (even though the release dates threas are actually a really good idea imo) because there was not a separate thread talking about her next release. I was surprised when I saw the single for download
This in no way is a staff message, it's just my single opinion, I think it would be cooler if things turned out how it used to be in the past, the old way, which seemed cooler and more attractive in my opinion. The official threads would be used to comment on pictures or discussion and thoughts about the new releases, but announcements of new releases would better be on separate threads. In my opinion, it wouldn't really spoil the spirit of such threads.

I agree as well. It's a great idea and it keeps the forum "clean"

In my opinion though, Utada's official thread should be used. Whenever she's active in the industry, there becomes countless threads (most of them filled with insignificant info) about her flooding the Asian Music Chat. "Utada goes to gay bar." Who cares? Important release dates are enough.

Other than that, I agree with you completely.

"Official" threads let a minority of fans of a certain artist, band, etc. to discuss old news as well as new news, posting info and dates for all the members is one thing but discussing anything and everything about an artist is another, which is the reason I like them..

They don't feature the covers, nor do they individualize the artist. Instead of dropping the news on page 45 of an official thread, why not make a new thread to post an artists news? I completely disagree that all the fans of an artist will be visitting the official threads, because I don't. I'm a fan of most of the artists featured in the official threads (namie amuro, utada, koda kumi, do as infinity, mika nakashima, hitomi, ELT, etc but I don't even have the time to check 1/10 of those). I bet that also happens to other ppl. I'm not criticizing the "official" threads, they're cool to have more indepth talk about the favorite artists, but when it comes to "NEWS" I think those should be more highlighted and definitely deserve a new thread for them.
It's not like creating a new thread is much more work than posting the news on the official threads. In fact it's a lot more easier to create a new thread in my opinion. It also would give more variation to the Asian Music Chat Room, instead of having only 20 blocks of huge threads off the same type

I'm not criticizing the existance of "official threads". I agree that they allow some minorities to carry on deeper conversations about their favorite artists, be it on old news or news news. What I'm discussing is the fact that new News should better be posted into new threads, in order to be more visually appealing and catch more user's attentions. Dropping important news like "new releases, release dates, cover and tracklists" on the official threads in my opinion just hides a lot of important things that could be displayed to several more users if a new thread were to be created.

hmm..
70% i agree with you and the rest is not, why?
because i think there is many people here that want to be specific, if you just make one thread for all artist. i'm sure we can get crazy to read it. SO MANY PAGES!!! that's why i disagree
but i agree cos it can look more steady and clean..i don't like to read the official thread too..i like to read the thread that have an interesting title...
so..why don't you make a poll for this?

I'm definitely for separate threads for important news. The "Official" threads get really OT and hard to manage as mods. It's a trend lately, I've seen it at other boards I visit and sometimes I ask myself, "Why?" I tend to only read relevant posts for other artists (releases, articles, etc).
If you want to discuss random things about the artist, an artist-centric posting board is the way to go. For instance, since this is an Ayumi forum, there are many more specific threads for various stages of Ayumi news.

If someone were to post a seperate news thread for some release I was interested in, I would check it because I know from reading the title it's something that' I'll be interested in. This is what the release thread and the official topics lack. Who knows if the latested post in the "Official Utada Hikaru Thread" is news, or just someone posting how they like a certain song. Both type of posts are valid, but a chunk of us feel that they should be seperate. Important information deserves its own thread. It's kind of like how there is the Ayu Chat-room and the Ayu News room, so those two types of posts can be kept seperate and everything is easier to find.

well, when it comes to this I´m on Impactbreaker´s side seeing countless of "Official Threads" would make me get confused and starting to get bored of AHS(that I´m not now ^^) and when it comes to seeing this in a whole other perspective like ayurocks
people decides on the topic if they should check it out or not so if there were 10 topics with the same name I would have jumped over those 10 threads

This was discussed months ago...sorry ^^; But I was going to ask the AHS Staff about it anyway; I have to admit, I really don't look through much of the Official threads..they are fun to read at times, but very time consuming and confusing if I'm trying to look for news. I agree with ImpactBreaker that people should post more relevant news of a certain artist in a new thread instead of posting it on page 555 [or whatever] of the Official thread.

gotta agree with you guys that i prefer important news separated from those official thread, coz i'm a lazy person who hardly reads those threads. a separate thread would have caught my attention more.
